Forums - Gaming - Digital Foundry Performance Analysis: Mad Max PS4/Xbox One

From what we've sampled so far, Mad Max is a solid multi-platform release across both consoles. Frame-rates appear stable under stressful conditions, while the level of graphical accomplishment appears practically identical, with the Xbox One not only achieving a native 1080p presentation but also delivering slightly better performance overall. Of course, we'll be taking a closer look at the game in our upcoming Face-Off, but for now the Xbox One game nudges slightly ahead in performance terms, though in practice there's really not much to separate the two versions at all, with both serving up an excellent experience.

Looks to be a fairly solid 30 FPS on both running at 1080p with slight graphical edge to the PS4 which is as expected really.

Is the game fun to play? I love racing games, but the commercial for this looked very bland and I have enough open world games atm. I'll put it on the back burner with the crew, future ps+ or bargain bin purchase.

Did you read the article at all?  I know the canned "runs better on the PS4" is hard not to use, but that is the opposite of what was said.

I find it humorous that this thread has so little responses.  Nothing worse than the crickets when the PS4 version of a game isn't better somehow.

I know that they said the differences are minute, so it doesn't really matter.  But, that is the case in most of the multi-plats for the last year even if the PS4 has had some minor advantage on most.

It is near the end of the end....

You don't hear that often.

This game wasn't on my radar buy it looks pretty good. Good to see devs getting the hang of the XB1, too.

Wow, I get the PS4 version of a game and it turns out to be the worst of the three :

On a serious note, the game is awesome! I just wish the combat had some more brutality.

So, XBO lead platform, 'parity' PS4 port in essence?

I got the vibe that you can't go wrong with any version! Anyway, what do you think? Is it worth a buy?
