Forums - Gaming - Sony: Market Research Shows that ‘people want to try Project Morpheus’

I'm not even worried about whether VR will be good or bad. I've heard way to many positive things from the people who have used it. The only question is will the software support be there and will the intial hardware be worth it. We might have to wait for the hardware to get better.

That is the only problem but Sony have said they're in talks with developers and publishers to put Morpheus demos on their titles. If those demos are well done then perhaps good word of mouth will eventually take hold.

I want to try it, and not for 15 minutes, but for hours? Why? I wanna know for sure that I wont feel sick after playing it for quite some time.

Totally sold on VR but would need to try it to make sure it works as expected. However even the original Oculus VR was great to me even with the low res graphics.

When it comes out I doubt I'll be able to resist for long.

I wonder if you will be able to watch 3D blu-rays on them too? Obviously rotating your head won't achieve much but I can imagine it being a nice step up from 3D televisions.

3d movies on the DK2 are better than any 3D TV. Despite the limited resolution. The reason is no cross talk so its a very clean 3D effekt as each eye gets only the information it is supposed to. The low resolution is a problem but its going to be way higher in the Consumer Version and especially in the future iterations. 4k Smartphone screens can not come soon enough imo.

I dont really want to

why not, everyone want to try new gadget, it doesn't mean that you have to buy it or like it.  I want to try it but that is it.  Don't think I will be buying one if it's too expensive.

They may be interested but I doubt many of them would be willing to spend $200+ on a device they've never seen anything like before.

Personally, I'm not really interested in VR and I see Morpheus being a product that appeals to a niche audience.

I think it could go either way to be honest. It's not something I'm interested in myself though.

Agreed that many people will need to experience it first hand, in order to know whether they want it.  I'm personally intrigued because it would effectively replace the need for a giant TV, and since my headphones are way above average, Morpheus, if a solid bit of tech, may absolutely be worth the price.  But, I won't know until I have some hands on time.

Sony needs to get demo kits to every games retailer out there, imo.

Nope, don't care for VR.

i want it, and i hope i can get a lot of money when this gadget comes so i have money to spare to buy this thing.
