Forums - Gaming - Is twitch just another form of prostitution?

I never used twitch ohter than as a live.stream for conferences so.I dont.know what exactly happens there. What is your definition of.prostitution.? Mine has to do with somebody selling their body for.money this.means the buyer is free to have sexual intercourse with the prostitute. If those girls talk about games and horny guys give them money for that. This is not prostitution in my opinion.

I always call lawyers prostitutes of the soul. Sometimes in their face (my dad studied law lol).

Why not just watch porn since that's what you seem to be interested in?

Girls you can't get/can't see naked are always hotter.

The only people I follow on Twich are Video Games Awesome. They are a canadian crew that consist of one main guy (Fraser) his girlfriend (Becky) and three other guys (Ben, Deacon and Kyle) who are on the show on and off. I certainly don't follow them because of Beckys (mostly nonexistant clevage) but because they provide quality, fun entertainment. (I don't think they even have twitch donations)
No offense, but I think you're projecting a little. Not everyone uses twich the way you apparently do and not everyone provides the content you seem to enjoy. And if you liken Twich to prostitution, I think that says more about you than about twich or the female streamers.
You presume these Streamers are showing cleavage for the benefit of attracting your and other male audience members attention and money. While this isn't even neccissisarily the case, it's also miles away from prostitution. By that logic every actor, model, streamer/contentprovider, hell, even the nice girl you bought a drink yesterday are all prostitutes.
Yes, you might be inclined to donate to a female streamer that shows clevage and she might be aware of that tendency and trying to exploit that, but that doesn't make her a prostitute either.

Maybe something is wrong with me, but I've never watched a game stream ever. I don't just get it. I can understand watching movies, or a video where something is being talked about. But how does it make any sense that people sit and watch other people play games? I used to think that the main draw of gaming was that you play them yourself.

Baffling.

Yeah indeed, what's next?  Watching people playing football/Rugby or even running? Maybe even worse let people pay to watch it....People can't be that stupid right?

Guys like Lirik, Forsen and Sodapoppin make an obscene amount of money through donations. Forsen showed his donation page once by mistake when he was drunk. He made 18 thousand dollars in half a month.

I'm talking about female streamers on twitch. I follow 25 people on twitch and there all female streamers. what's wrong with me. I haven't donated anything, but I'm actually considering it. again, what's wrong with me? Most show there clevage and some don't,but still. I could name all these female streamers, but could'nt tell you one male streamer. I don't troll anybody's stream and i'm respect them in the chat, but does that make me a tool? So,is'nt twitch just selling yourself for money? it's not exactly the same thing as prostiution, but in a way,it is. The female streamers are the one's that are taking over twitch. Does anybody even donate to male streamers? I could'nt tell you. I don't expect this thread to get alot of post, but I'm just wondering if there's something wrong with my way of thinking?

This is completely wrong. All of the top streamers are male and they make fuckloads of money off of it (tens of thousands per month), I doubt many female streamers get anywhere near close to that much money. I tend to stay away from them but most female streamers I have seen aren't very popular (popular relative to the game they stream, for example a hearthstone streamer with like 6k views is fairly popular, whereas all the top streamers in that game get 20k+, most female hearthstone streamers are around 1kish as an example)

It's not simply women as i've seen some men doing this as well. Twitch has become a place that I quite honestly don't like to frequent anymore because of the constant "tipping" and shout out messages. They were alright at first before they became mainstream, but constantly sitting through DING DONG DINGALING DINGY "$50 obtained - Hey Stephen, what did you think of so-and-so?" has become very tired and is ruining the overall experience.

It's quite clear that many people on Twitch are no longer streaming simply for fun, but for primarily monetary reasons, which is why both women and men are dressing or acting provoactively on stream. Ever wondered why Angry Joe doesn't put out nearly as many videos (Reviews) these days? One night of streaming can net him $500+ dollars for doing zero editioral work, which makes his life easier hence no need to do a large burden of work.

Now don't get me wrong, i'm not attempting to put people down for trying to earn money. Kudos to those people, and if I was in that situation I probably would do the same thing. Afterall I play a ton of games and why not make a few bucks doing it? However, the constant tip messages with over the top sounds and shout outs has ruined the site (at least for me). That type of stuff would be better served for the end of a stream after the primary content is over.

Kaceytron is life kaceytron is glorious and the big tits of kneecoleslaw are nice

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I know you are trying to be smart with that post of yours, but its rather silly you trying to make that kinda connection.

Not everyone can run, play basketball or play football competitively. In the very same way not everyone can play street fighter at the level required to play it competitively. I watch soccer because  I am supporting a team.  I watch basketball cause I'm supporting a team then later in the day I go to my local court and play with my friends. I watch evo cause I want to see the best of the best play fighting games then later I jump in and game with my friends. I would even watch some game videos because I'm trying to see where to find that item.

That's very different from sitting down and watching someone else play an entire game or chunks of it as your primary way if experiencing that game. If you can't see the difference then I'm sorry and I guess you fall under those people I don't quite understand.
