Back in the 80s and early to mid 90s, maybe even up to 2000 or so, Capcom, Sega, Hudson, Konami, Namco, Squaresoft, Midway, etc......these were big deal companies that you could trust. They rarely put out outright garbage. In fact, during the NES/SNES era, Capcom and Konami were so on point that VERY few games from either were crap. Yes, there were titles like "Street Fighter" 2010, but there was also a ridiculous amount of stuff from both companies, both licensed and original, that was SO GOOD. That lasted through the SNES era, for sure.

But now Midway is dead. Hudson Soft is gone (Konami absorbed them and decided to do NOTHING with their IPs), Sega is irrelevant, having driven poor Sonic into the ground, Namco is still kicking, but nothing they've put out in a fair while has really "Wowed" anymore. Square is also technically still kicking, but they've been steadily driving themselves into the ground with overly expensive productions like FFXIII that just aren't really.....good.

But by far, Konami and Capcom are the two worst offenders. They used to be THE two top names in third party software. And now they're both jokes. Especially Konami. So yeah....fuck em.

Capcom is an offender, but I think they are trying to push those Resident Evil remakes and do something good. Most Japanese developers are really hurt on AAA big budgeted games.
