The problem is that 3rd party developers believe they can release somewhat known IPs with rrappy ports and no advertising and wonder why they don't sell.
In some cases, like with Godfather, the port was good (but not great) and the overall game was a ton of fun on the Wii. But if I didn't read reviews, I would have never known that or even known it was available.

Indeed they would be. It makes me wonder if Nintendo is increasing production of US Wii units and halting production of Japanese ones. Japanese sales have been slow long enough to suggest that Nintendo could have a pretty big stockpile of those if they haven't adjusted production over the last few months they haven't been selling out in Japan. Perhaps due to deals with TRU, TRU gets the bulk of that windfall over the holiday season.
I'd love to see the Wii increasing as much across the board and world wide. It would make me lose my bet with you, but that's no price to pay for all of the happy customers with Wiis over the holidays.
