Sold out of Assassin's Creed on 360 today. So did the Gamestop across the street (I was told by a customer).
Next shipment of Wiis likely won't be until early next week.
Still sold out of 80 GB PS3s.
Still sold out of 360 Pros.
Waiting for shipments of all three systems.
Our supply of Super Mario Galaxy was quite large; we got 10 Assassin's Creed (360), 20 Ratchet and Clank, and 102 Super Mario Galaxy.
However, this should be taken with an enormous grain of salt: not only are we a toy store, but we have that fantastic deal going on. It's quite clear that people who would normally buy the game elsewhere are shopping at TRU instead for that particular game. It's actually more impressive to me that I'm sold out of Assassin's Creed, an M rated game that we have no deal on, despite the fact that the shipment was 1/10th the size.

@ Bod, what about the PS3 version or any pre-orders for Uncharted yet

Good question -- I've definitely gotten questions about it, although I don't think it's quite suited to our demographic the way that Ratchet and Clank was. It's not miles away, like Manhunt is, but it's not hitting our target demographic dead center.
Most importantly, TRU isn't like Gamestop, where you can reserve virtually any title you want at any time. We have a few specific titles that we reserve; for now, those titles are (or were) Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero, Mario Party DS (weird one. I've gotten 1 or 2 reservations for this total), and WWE Smackdown.
In short, it'll be hard to tell how well the game does until it arrives on shelves for us. For now, all I can say is that I've gotten more questions about Uncharted than I have any other PS3 game save Ratchet.

they got 50 wii's "unannounced" with their 100+ copies of galaxy
they sold out in under 4hrs.
and they had to turn away at least 10 people(while i was there)--and some of those people were on the phone calling friends to get them to come down to get one....

i don't know the reason why the stores had wii's on sale all year but i think in this time of year the thinks will be different
here in europe i think the sales are a bit diferent from the usa and in the south of europe - Portugal/Spain/Italy - are diferent from england and the northern europe
for example the xbx360 in portugal sales well because people can put non oficial games on xbox360... i bought 60 euros for each game of ps3 and my friends had the xbox games for free
My local EB (Camberwell, Melbourne/Australia) has a "buy 2, get 1 free" offer on at the moment for used games.
They also have a MASSIVE collection of (used/new) PS2/XBOX available for sale - and no one seems to be is buying them. 3 games for $50AU.

Lots of interesting information today!
Both the Microsoft and Sony retail representatives showed up today -- they show up to make sure all their product is organized and everything is up to date. For example, the Microsoft employee added new pages to our Zune information booklet, while the Sony lady redid the PS3 demo station with a new game and new displays.
I took the time to ask a couple questions that would be particularly pertinent to this website. Which stores tend to sell the most Xbox 360s, in their experience? Answer: Best Buy, definitely Best Buy. And for the PS3? Wal-Mart, but it's not quite as clear in that case. She cited Wal-Mart's end cap for the PS3 as a leading reason why.
Also, the Microsoft employees told me they owned a 360 and a Wii, but not PS3 -- yet, at least, as they both said they might buy one later on. They actually bought Mario Galaxy from me!
Which leads me to my next point: I got 75 more Mario Galaxies in today, and all but 12 were gone when I left this afternoon. It's also important to point something else out -- another customer anecdotally told me (and I cannot verify this, it's just second hand info!) that the local Gamestops and Best Buys all had plenty of Mario Galaxy in stock. It's only my local Toys R Us that are out, obviously because of our deal, but it's all of them -- about 6 in my area -- that are selling it like crazy.
Also, the Microsoft rep retrofitted all of our elite systems with the Ultimate Alliance/Forza 2 bundle.

Interesting, we get any Bestbuy and eh... never mind on that other one... employee responsible that can shed some light on this?
