"Just as it is unlikely that MS will ever boast the as many solid franchises as Sony, it is unlikely that Sony will ever provide as good as an online service as Microsoft. "

What BS, the PSN isn't nearly as bad as you make it out to be, XBL is just a place for a bunch of hardcore gamers to go and brag about how much of their life they have wasted getting achievement points.

And Home will make Sony have the better online service. I also love how you project MS as this glorious for the greater good company, MS is evil, no matter which way you put it, and their software is crap, the only reason the remain the dominant force is because of their massive userbase, otherwise they are complete and utter crap.

Now I'll agree saying XBL is farther in development, has a larger userbase and more content, but that does not make it superior, it also happens to be going through quite a few problems, and had a large head start before Sony. So to claim Sony will never be able to beat them is foolish and naive.

I think it just comes down to what you are looking for in a console. I think its fairly clear you guys are pro playstation as am I but I also have a 360 and have seen the value in there online service.

For me I buy games specifically for online (COD4 and Halo 3). I do not mind a lengthy single player experiance (ME or LO) but much rather have something that provides lasting appeal.

In addition, I love playing games with friends which is partially the reason I bought a 360 in the first place.

I guess it just comes down to preference.

You forgot to mention the cost of XBL, not everyone wants to pay.

1. I never said PSN was bad did I?  All I said was XBL is the dominant online service which is undisputable

2. I guess you dont play XBL cause I personally dont brag about how many achievement points I have, I am not 12 and have nothing better to do then play games.

3.  How do you no Home will allow Sony to have a better online service?  How do you no that it will be great from Day 1?  How do you no it wont be plauged with problems which btw was why it was delayed in the 1st place

4. MS is evil ok, I guess you could say that about every corporation in the world.  I personally like there software but you are entitled to your opinion.

It's very clear you were trying to make PSN out to be bad, and while you may not brag, many do, otherwise why care about achievement points at all? How do I know Home will be better? Well have you seen the demos, the screens?

Ask anyone familiar with MS they are considered to be one of the most evil companies, all they want is you're money, they're software is junk and unreliable, but I suppose you can like that if you want.

I'm guessing you're about 13 or 14 based on the way you spell and type.

1. Screens and demos...hey did you see the screens and demos of Lair, they were amazing werent they.  I guess you judge things based on pictures personally I like to use something before I make a judgement call but kudos to you.

2. Hmm, MS wants all your money and Sony doesn't right?  See if you want to be a fanboy be one, honestly makes no difference to me I have the money to afford both consoles.  In the end sir anyone who manufactures and distrubutes a product wants to your money.  Just a hint for you as you move forward in life, it may help you out at some point.

3.  Not 13 or 14 but your right I havent been spelling to well have I.  See, I dont spend too much time sitting on a forum and proof reading.  I really dont care all that much if I spell correctly or not on here but if you do again kudos to you my friend.

This post was based on facts (feel free to follow up the links) my friend and you are free to read it over one more time to let the point of the post sink in a little bit.  For some people they have to read something 5 or 6 times before there brain can absorb the information.

We'll just have to wait and see what Home turns out to be won't we? But you did prove a point, and that is Sony atleast semi cares about their customer's, or they would have released a faulty Home like MS would have.

Why don't we compare Sony and Microsofts two consoles.... Which one holds more value, and more features, and is more reliable?

You're entitled to look like a 13 year old, you're entitled to love MS for whatever crazy reason, if you like being screwed, that's YOUR business, not mine.

And I hardly see "XBL is the superior" as a fact, all you've proven is it's more popular, and for a simple reason, there are more 360's out there than PS3's, and it's been in development longer.

The fanboy is unleashed

@Fanatical111

1/ Sorry for not having read ur first post totally before posting my first one.

2/ Sorry to misread ur title. I thought u were saying "future is online gaming".

3/ I think u are an hardcore PC/online gamer. And I believe the console crowd is really different from thre PC crowd. At least, I think big PC games are big online multiplayer games (sc/war3/wow/dII (BLIZZARD ^^) + Valve) but big Console games are :
GTA = no online until this one
FF (or another SE title if u prefer) = no online except FFXI
GT = no online
Tekken/SC = no online

I suppose you would say that Halo1/2/3 possess online, as CoD4, as Virtua Fighter4. But u have to understand these games were specific to the Xbox/Xbox360 crowd (Halo) or the current crowd PS360 (CoD4). BUT if u want to understand CONSOLE gaming market u have to take the PS2 crowd (the winner of the last gen) and will realize that 99% of PS2 games were OFFline and that console player prefer play offline with their friends than online with "msn ghost".

Also note that the current leading console is the ... Wii that has a poor online and that is CLEARLY not the priority of Ninty !!

I will end saying that Home could be interesting for Sony but only in the long run. What matter now is the PS2 crowd and MS price cut near GTA4 launch is a BIG POINT for them.

Note : GTA4, with online = big sales
GTA4, no online = big sales TOO

For NOW, Online is an extra feature for most of the gamers.
I agree that next gen (Xbox720/PS4/Yii), online will be a more important feature (more internet connection, better speed, better technology, more dl, less material support for games etc ...)

4/ I think the only advantage of MS over Sony is the 1 year launch" and their BIG wallet. I dont see why Sony would be able to match MS online offer.
And, NO, MS are not as skilled as u claim. Remember the Vistashit that nobody want is from them.I
IF people buy MS product, it is just because they dont truly have the choice ...

1. Yes I am a hardcore PC gamer but have also owned a console ever since NES.  I do like multiplayer games much more then single player games with Diablo 2, CS and SC II being my favorities.

2. VF5 was made for the PS3 first and ported to the 360 so I dont understand where you say that this game was made for the 360 crowd.  Secondally, I highly doubt that PS owners who play COD4 do not play it online.  I think it would be good to check how many PS users are playing online right now to prove my point but I am lazy and tired of having to explain my post.

3.  I think the Wii is in the lead due to its price point and target market and really has nothing to do with it having or not having an online appeal.  The Wii appeals to a completely different crowd, my sister has one and she had never played a video game in her life.

4. If online was considered an "extra" feature I doubt there would be +10 million Xbox Live members.  Also of note, I did own a PS2 and I am sure many other 360 owners did as well.

5.  Where did I say MS was super skilled?  What I did say is they pioneered lots of PC development which they did.  SQL for example?  .Net for example?  I agree vista is shit, I hate it but they deserve some praise for what they have done for PC development is all I am saying.
