I used to be, but not anymore. I can still jam out to Master of Puppets, And Justice for All, and even The Black Album sometimes though. Playing Enter Sandman on Rock Band is BADASS, although the song is kind of hard on guitar.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
I will always listen to ...And Justice For All. It was one of the best albums of that decade. Master of Puppets was pretty good, too.
my favorite band ;) have al the albums and songs
PSN: Metra17
Games: Uncharted, Burnout Paradise, COD4, Motorstorm, Rockband
Metallica are a bunch of douchebags.
That said, most of their stuff before St. Anger is awesome.
Yeah they used to be my favorite, then i stopped listening to them for awhile, and now im getting back into them again. Im anticipating their 9th album which should surface pretty soon because its supposed to have a spring release date of 08. Rick Rubin is the producer now so hopefully it wont be another st. anger. Its been described as the "missing link" between ...ajfa and the black album. Im slighty optimistic and aam hoping for the best.

I remember about six months ago kirk said that the new album has riffs similar to master of puppets...so we wont have another BS St. Anger album....i hope
Metallica were gods of thrash in the '80s. I'm not sure what happened after that.
They're definitely in my top 10, simply because their older stuff was so damn awesome! \m/

I have mixed feelings on St. Anger. It was by far their thrashiest album since Justice, it just lacked the technicality of their past work. It was thrash rock, rather than thrash metal. But at least they had the attitude back. If they can get the riffs and solos to back it up (and if Lars would start practicing again :|), then the new album should be pretty good.
