I think you guys may be underestimating JRPG's. You have to remember that most JRPG's are AA, not AAA. Most JRPG devs cut costs by not having full voice acting, using graphics engines that are several years outdated compared to western devs, and having small marketing campaigns (outside of Japan that is). When a game has a AA budget ($5-15m), it doesn't have to sell crazy numbers to turn a profit. For instance, 500k copies sold lifetime at an average of $30 ($60 new, $10-20 after a a year or two) comes out to $15m, which is breaking even on the high end of the AA budget spectrum and a profit on the low end of the AA budget spectrum.

Tales of for instance, which is one of the more popular AA JRPG series, likely has a budget on the high end of the AA spectrum ($15m), and recently has been selling close to 1m copies per game lifetime. Which likely means that they're making somewhere around $10-15m profit per game.

Dev costs are one thing but marketing is another. That usually doubles the cost.

So do you guys think X1's 2016 exclusive line up is better than their 2015 line up? I previously thought 2015 was better, but 2016 looks like it will be a better year. 2016 will have Gears, Quantum Break, Scalebound, Crackdown, ReCore, and Sea of Thieves.

That's true, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much for more 2016 exclusives because there are usually delays.

I don't think it will be worse than 2015 but probably as good but wether its better im not sure yet. Looks very promising currently, I think this weighs heavily on Quantun Break and Scalebounds showing at gamescom.

How long will the poll be open? It seems QB is going to win the round over Gears 4 and I am fine with that. Gears 4 gets my vote for next year.

Proud to be a Californian.

2016 seems like it may be better for exclusives than 2015, but we won't know for sure until after Gamescom. New 2016 exclusives should be announced at Gamescom, while games we think might be 2016 could end up being 2017 (Crackdown comes to mind).

What does everyone generally think about Crackdown? I've not played the origional and don't know wether to be hyped or not about this title.

Yeah, I think Crackdown will be delayed as well since we haven't seen any gameplay or heard any new info.

I thought the first one was okay but never played the second one. I heard the first game was the better of the two. I'm waiting until I see some gameplay to decide if its worth getting excited about or not.
