Forums - PC - Phil's Repairing Atari! Proof is on Steam!

It does seem amazingly fast, how is getting stuff on steam so easy, Its either stupidly easy or was planned before he got there, what is the whole process for getting a game on steam like this?

how do you think an independant developer, who made Audiosurf, get on steam so easily? simple he ask valve and used steamworks to publish the game.

yes i prob ably jumped the gun with phil but its rather funny that a week after he joins infogames this happens. I would think he is definitely behind this. Nearly 80% certain he is.

It's not about "why they would say no," it's about them deciding on the terms of the deal, like how much of the pie Valve gets, and whatnot. Even when two businesses genuinely want to work together they still frequently make contracts between one another just to make sure both sides know exactly what they are getting out of the deal.

Really, with all of the programming and everything else that'd have to go into this, it's hard (but not impossible) to see it all being done in just one week. It's even hard to see it being done in two. Generally testing a product takes that sort of time, or more. I know this is as simple of a job as it gets, but until I see evidence otherwise I'm not convinced that Phil threw this all together all by himself in a week.

he could have at minimum pushed the contracts to be signed faster

anyways, Atari has a ton of their newer games on Steam too. RCT, Act of War, etc. Most of the games they have published/developed arethere but the DBZ games.

I want DBZ:B3 for PC that would be awesome with online play.

I'm not saying he's impotent in his new position, I just question how much he can do in a single week. I'm sure that if Atari has any hope of recovering that they've found the man who can make it happen. I'm not so sure that they have any hope of recovering, though. Really, they got bought out by a company who really only wanted to sell the classic Atari games in repackaged forms and sell their own games with a slightly higher profile brandname. I think they got the bad end of the deal.

And really, the fact that they already have 4 other games on steam that I could see makes it seem even more likely that this was in the works before Phil came along.

Again, let's wait awhile and see what happens when the last guy's directives have come to an end and the decisions can only be coming from Phil himself before deciding that he is Atari's savior.

I really enjoyed RCT2 and I really didn't like the third one. I hope that if there is another one, the menu's are more simplified like in the second one. Trying to build stuff in the third one felt like such a chore.
