The thing that blurs the line here is that Sports games are all kind of the same anyway. I get what you're saying but I imagine for the audience whom matter the title means a lot, this will be reflected sales wise. Its like when EA continued to sell fifa 2013 to PSVita users with updated skins, its sure as well wasn't a "new game" but adding 14, 15 to the title secured it further sales.
