Forums - Sony - The Last of Us is a good game…nothing more, nothing less

Agree with the op. I actually bought it twice but couldn't get into it the first time. After buying the ps4 version and realizing it didn't look much better (as promised) i decided to complete it. It was very good. Quite a few games I enjoyed more, though. Felt pretty engaged but knowing what I know now, games like Arkham City, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, Xenoblade, Mass Effect series, etc would come before it--despite any flaws. I just enjoyed them more. Nothing against TLoU, though. It was a very well made experience.

But that would mean you are not Hynad anymore (and I don't mean that in a bad way). Keep being Hynad please.

Knowing that I don't always intent on being blunt and harsh with the way I voice what I feel and think, yet more often than not still come off as obnoxiously sarcastic, you probably don't need to worry.

I think it's a good game regardless of what I think about the ending. I had fun playing it, just wished it lasted a bit longer.

You can still have your artistic vision and have both endings. They could have locked the second option for a second playthrough if they where so hell bent on wanting you to experience the "Joel saves Ellie" outcome.

But that's the only ending the artists had envisioned. So that doesn't make sense.

You said "That was very nicely put... I should learn to be nicer, one day. -___-"

And the next post, "But that's the only ending the artists had envisioned. So that doesn't make sense."

No offense, but I really laughed lol

I believe what Naughty dog did is great, I loved it, but still asking for more interaction also makes sense in a game. My answer is more "ND's choice makes a lot of sense and I loved it" rather than "that's the good choice, and what a game should be".

There's nothing "not nice" in that comment of mine. O_o

Oh really you think so ? I thought " So that doesn't make sense." was a quite rude just after this sentence. Anyway even by mistake I laughed, and that's always great, no offense intended.

Well, I didn't mean it to be rude... =/

And don't worry. None taken.

Oh, so now it's Game of the generation? Didn't know that.

One of my favourite games of the last gen. But nevertheless still has it's flaws.

Everyone has their own pick for that title.

But there is no denying the impact that game had on most people who played it. Few games have managed to do this to such acclaim.

Most dads in the world would see things the way Joel did. Maybe you just couldn't put yourself in Joel's place because you haven't experienced what being a dad is. That being said, I know a lot of people with enough empathy to understand without being a father themselve.

The game didn't make me like Ellie enough to choose her over the world. Don't get me wrong, she was a good character, but not worth throwing the entire human race out the window. Taking the choice away from the player and making me act out a cause I didn't believe in placed story over gameplay, which is always a bad thing in my opinion.

Agreed. Im ok with linear, no room for deviation from the developers static game world and tunnel vision, but they have to make you connect with the characters to pull that off and they failed miserably there with me. I found the background characters and little side story filler stuff to be much better written and impactful.

Joel and Ellie though, meh. The only thing i liked about either of them is that given the choice, Ellie would gladly sacrificed herself. But i guess its hard to make Laster of Us if there is no Ellie.
