"No offense." Yeah, right. |
I am just saying, there are currently 20+ million PS4 owners out there, Bloodborne and MLB 15: The Show probably reached 15% of all owners at best. I am part of the 85% that those games didn't appeal to.

Hey. How you doing?

I agree with you except on 1 item. Everyone keeps saying No Man's Sky doesnt could because its developed by an Indie team. According to what I have read and heard, none of us will ever experience everything the game has to offer. Little team, huge game. Way I see it, its def a AAA game made by a smaller team. I do wish UC4 or something was also coming out, but I bet you would finish all of the microsoft games before you would explore all of No Man's Sky. |
To be honest, I don't believe in No Man's Sky. Hello Games track record doesn't exactly give them my trust.

In their defense, a 15% attach rate would be pretty damn impressive for any game....

Not while we are talking about a 20 million installbase.
*And we are talking about 2 games combined making 15%
Like others said, they don't really have to worry since hardware is selling really well despite the first party games, so they can take their time with them

I have faith, Sony tends to get better over the course of a generation. Outside of the PS3 launch price when have they not delivered?
| foodfather said: They haven't had any concerns since handing over the cheques to Activision and Ubisoft with the exclusive content. And I'm sure theres more cheques to come. I think its dismal the PS4 has got to where it is which such 1st party support they have. Sheep/hype culture today is sickening. 10 years ago they wouldn't have gotten away with it. Far superior multiplats didn't matter on the original xbox or 360, so why such a big deal now??? |
Why it didnt matter back then? I tell you why, because the 360 Multiplats only run on average 5 frames more and maybe had a bit better colors than the ps3.
The original xbox had 480p vs 480i on the ps2 when it came to multiplatform games.Thats not higher resolution but prograssive vs interlanced resolution which is also a huge deal. But in europe for example Microsoft removed the 480p support alltogeher for the OG Xbox. You have to softmod your pal xbox to get progressive scan making it even more irrelavent at the time. And at the time most people played on crt TVs with composite cables anyways thats why it didnt matter.
And thats why it matters now for the ps4 because its higher resolution, not 5 frames more and everyone has a HD 1080p ready TV now.
And when it comes to exclsuives its very relative. The ps4s exclusives have the better graphics, they are all mostly new IPs unlike with MS and Nintendo exclusives, and they are all more diverse devoloped from more different country. For MS most of their exclusives come from US and UK, nintendo its mostly japanese.
And we all know the ps4 gets more exclusives overall from japan like persona 5, and bloodborne is the highest rated exclusive on metacritic now so that debunks your claim its sheep culture.
I bought the ps4 just to play bloodborne and other japanese games who will best supported on playstation.

In those days, the difference between PS2 and Xbox were whole levels being redesigned just to run on PS2, character models being changed, etc.
With PS3 and 360, there were loading times, frame rate issues, controller preference, online stability, etc.
Even before that, SNES/Genesis games were often very different as were PS1 vs N64 games. You could tell which console a game was on (blocky vs blurry) from just a screenshot. Nowadays, it takes a lot more effort to find any difference between multiplats. The difference was much more pronounced in days past.
