Forums - Sony - Sony: 'No Concerns' for Holiday lineup

A lot of unreasonable overreaction in here. As if people think Sony won't show a thing at E3. And that none of what will be shown will be ready for this holidays.

Sure, they will show something, but nothing of significance. They will have nothing that can stand up to Halo, Tomb Raider and Forza. Nothing.

Are you interested in Halo, Tomb Raider, or Forza?

If those games are big for you, why don't you game on the XBO instead of complaining?

Market leaders never have concerns regarding software, third parties ensure they're sorted. If sonys going to take a minor momentum blow this holiday, they've already accounted for it and have measures to counteract.

This was kind of the same convo we had last year but in hindsight X1's lineup wasn't stellar, it was just more marketable then sonys. This year, they've actually got a stellar fall line up

Maybe I should, because Microsoft in 2nd place sure knows how to fight, at least in terms of their games. Sony was the exact same way during the PS3 era.

You don't have to be interested in them to know they are BIG games.

Big games will come on the PS4 as well. Does it really matter that they come out at the same time as the big games on other consoles?

It matters only to those who have the console war mentality. "They need to counter these games with theirs!!"

But the reasons behind this kind of mentality is utterly shallow.

I lol at people listing forza, that game is irrelevant to selling systems.

Its holiday exclusive lineup is almost nonexistant. Sure you got No mans Sky and something else, but you think that will compete with Halo 5, Tomb Raider, Forza 6, Gears Remaster (probably), and perhaps even more? It won't! It'll still sell better, but Uncharted 4 was suppose to be Sony's grace this holiday season. Now, its got just a few indie's and what not, and that just doesn't cut it in my book.

Probably, perhaps, no surprises. Another Halo, another Forza, Tomb Raider is timed. Sounds very substantial. I actually wonder were all that cash has gone MS has invested.

And Sony doesn't do anything, but sit on their asses and count money. Even though most of their studios are currently working on (unannounced) PS4 titles (Guerrilla, Bend, Santa Monica, Sucker Punch, Polyphony) and/or supporting non-Sony-studios.

So what?

You have 5 children, but only feed one. Get where I am going?

Yes, you bought the wrong console. You get your same old same old boring porridge somewhere else.

Hunting Season is done...

This is indeed the very definition of arrogant and complacent:

"My sense is that the new platforms have opened up the ambitions of developers and the capabilities of what they can achieve," he explained. "What has then happened since has been a bit of rushing to market and a couple of not perfect launches. That’s perhaps driven some conservatism to not overly force this and make sure we get it right - there's been an adjustment of pace.

"The good news is that the ability to stick to time lines will improve as people get experience of the hardware under their belts. I have been hearing stories from around the industry that give me assurance that developers have got a better grasp on things, so we will be in increasingly good shape."

Sure, Greatness awaits, am I right?

Of course no? My problem is, that there is nothing coming out this year for Playstation that are in the same league.

Forza is what Gran Turismo is for us Playstation fans and guess what! THEY COME EVER FREAKING YEAR! AND GUESS WHAT! THEY ARE GOOD! WHY IN THE WORLD DOES POLYPHONY NEED 4-5 YEARS TO MAKE A GOOD RACING GAME?!!?!! On a side note, GT hasn't been good for the last 2 games.

Halo is what .. ? ohm, nope we Playstation fans don't have anything

And now that Uncharted got delayed, we have nothing to counter Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Quick question, when Xbox One owners sits and plays Halo, Tomb Raider and Forza this fall, what will you play? That is right, nothing... or maybe an Indie.

I will be playing Xenoblade Chronicle X, probably Starfox, Tearaway, MGSV, and I'm sure there will be quite a bit of other games for me to play. The joy of not being stuck with gaming on only one console.

Now, please elaborate on why you think Sony should counter any game from the competition with one of theirs (release a similar game at roughly the same time as their competitors).

If I was sony I wouldn't have any concerns either, the ps4 is selling just because. Also based on the many comments I have read in this thread, ps4 sales are enough to satisfy a segment of the fanbase.
