Forums - General - Geek out in this thread.

This thread is for extreme geekiness/nerditude. What about you makes you a ginormous geek? If you were one of the "cool" people in school, this thread is not for you (unless you were only "cool" within your own little geek circle, of course).

Back in 2000, I was a sophomore in college taking a course in digital logic design. AND gates and OR gates and all the stuff you can make from them. We made a few basic circuits, the first lit up a 7-segment display (it's what the numbers on your microwave or digital watch look like), another performed basic operations with a 4-bit register and extremely basic 4-bit ALU. In my roommates' senior year, they both took the sequel to this course, where they had to make an 8-bit multiplier circuit. I took the same course a few years later, but they had completely changed the course material (for the better, since I got to do Cell programming). Well, I've been bored recently and in need of brain stimulation, so I went ahead and made the multiplier.

You probably need to right-click->view image to see the whole thing.

Y'know, for shits n' giggles.

Of course!  I have a friend who was our GM/DM in high school, and we usually play a quick pickup RPG whenever he's in town.

I'm so sorry.

You guys are the ones I used to make fun of in high school.

^ They're already richer and better off than me.

Lol, touché

I dunno what my geeking out would be, a 3 player, 99 stock match on SSB64 starting at midnight?

I used to be a geek though. I had a pocket protector.

No need to apologize.  We all felt sorry for you.  ;)
