Forums - Gaming - Destiny Player Trading System Still on Bungie's Radar

Welcome to The Realms of Video Games

The Long Requested feature to be able to trade items in Destiny may still be possible according to your loving Bungie.  This is what was said in the House of Cards livestream on 4/22/2015

Barrett said people have been asking about a Destiny trading system "since the beginning of time."

"It's something we're...there's downsides to it and there's upsides," he explained. Destiny community member Gothalion said an item trading system could diminish the appeal of Destiny's endgame if players could freely swap items between one another.

Barrett said he agreed and also mentioned that the community is divided on the subject.

"The investment designers, there's a lot of conversations I'm sure that happen about that," Barrett said. "We're always considering features like that. Personally, I'd prefer not to have player trading. But you'll get different opinions across the entire team."

So what do you think?  Do you want player trading or no?

I dont really see how it woukd work in destiny. I think it is a bad idea...

To be fair what they showed yesterday was one of the best upgrades/expansions for Destiny... almost all the community feedback are being released in the HoW next month.

I want to see the Arena gameplay now.

It will work if you trade only Exotics per Exotics... no money or others items related.

Like I have a Red Death and I want to trade it for a Patiance and Time... it will works.

Trading gear of equal light value or whatever would work to keep the, ah, "appeal" of the endgame content alive and well.

i see two solutions to this.

the more broad approach, enable trading when both the trader and tradee are level 30.

a more neutral approach, make it possible to swap/donate received items at the ends of strike/raid
thus you dont get situations where two people who already have a particular piece of raid armor complete a raid together and get duplicates to what they already have, instead of what they need/want, and since its only endgame strike/raid items it benefits people who play cooperatively rather than encouraging the sale of items outside of the game.

Contrary to Bungies beliefs, grinding the same strike/raid over and over to try and get a full set of something, isn't really fun.

Also on the topic, requiring glimmer to upgrade items is stupid, they should just increase the resource needed (spinmetal, etc) and then upgrade the NPC's to allow you to upgrade AT npc's using less resource items and money instead, since it would actually contextually make sense at an NPC - where exactly does the glimmer go if you upgrade your items in the field?
