Ps3 is dead for S-E...except in japan.
We will probably not get the ps3 version of Star ocean 5 too, but only the ps4 one.

I'm not shocked at all, I thought it wasn't going to take long for PS4 to get a release, especially with the level of sales on PS4, no way in hell were Square Enix ever going to wait a year to put the game on PS4, unless they really wanted to rework it to better take advantage of the system's added power.
I doubt it'll release too close to Uncharted 4, we're probably going to have to wait until PSX this year to find out U4's release date.

Well, here is the thing:
Microsoft and Square signed this deal a long time ago thinking that Uncharted was coming in the fall. Phil acknowledged that they needed something to counteract Uncharted (now they have nothing but whatever). Then in six months Square would be in the clear on PS4 and hype it up with some included DLC or something like that. But when Uncharted was delayed... their whole plan fell apart.
I still don't really get the point of a timed exclusive... Like waiting really isn't that hard and I doubt that timed exclusive is ever a system seller

Neither do I, it's like they think the market is dense when it comes to patience, I'm well aware MKX and GTA V are out there for me to buy right now but I'm patient enough to wait for the prices to go down, I can do the same for this since if it releases to PS4, you can bet it's going to come to PC and when it does I'll be waiting for the better version, honestly MS should have just full on paid for it to stay exclusive, timed exclusives this gen do nothing and will continue to do nothing.
It also doesn't help MS that most Square deals this gen are gearing towards Sony so this little timed deal benefits Square more than it benefits MS and Xb fans.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
Nothing surprising, my guess was always 6 months.
I really don't mind waiting for a better version that will certainly come with all DLC included.
The 6 month exclusivity would have been when Se/CD was expecting UC4 to hit this year. I think they will push the PS4 release out to May or June to put some distance on Uncharted 4. It won't help MS at all, but it will help SE to get higher initial sales for the game. Everyone who wants both games will eventually get both games, but I think more people will prioritise UC4 if they come out at about the same time. The interesting question will be whether the PC release will come out as scheduled (i.e. exactly 6 months after Xb one). I suspect it will, so technically the 6 month exclusivity will end at 6 months, just not for PS4.

Pretty much... I mean, MS paid for that timed exclusive but the gain I would argue is minimum. Like great, xbox owners get to experience it first but I doubt a significant amount of people would actually buy an x1 for it
