I think we need to clarify "want" and "need". In order for the game to make a profit it needs nothing more than to be on Wii U.

Only way we could see this game on another platform, is that Nintendo port it on they next platform.

If this game is doing well, i bet another studios will imitate it, there is a lot big publisher especially SE or From Software who will gladly make this kind of game if big company like Microsoft or SONY finance the games development, Square Enix still have the Xenogears IP, and BAMCO still have the Xenoxaga IP, so the future still there for the possibility, but i doubt the XCX will ever be on another platform beside Nintendo. but for another game that will surpass the quality i believe there are a lot of games in the future.

I doubt that tbh, for one this is not an easy game to imitate in everything it does it would not only take a good budget but a competent and consistent team to get anywhere near the quality of the original XC. For reference I played the XV demo and that still has a way to go before it comes close to the original XC's quality based on the demo and that's a game that isn't imitating, the problem with imitation you're treading ground someone has already left their mark on and even being a big publisher SE still has never created such a game like XCX so experience in imitating such a game is another issue.

It's the same reason no imitation has really come close to the GTA games as the developers are merely following R*'s lead.

This is one o the only games on the Wii U that peaks my interest. But that's not enough for me to buy a console. I would have loved it if it were elsewhere but this is a 1st party game, so that's not going to happen.

I'm very excited for xenoblade x, but I just don't believe it's coming this year... I hope I'm wrong, but until I see it, I don't believe it's coming in 2015.

Why not? It is releasing this month in Japan, and the localization should only take a few more months.
