Forums - Gaming - So I realized where Dead Rising 2 should take place at (or any horror game)

I was stuck here for about 24hrs, and had to endure sleeping here through the night. After traveling the hallways at 0200am (their time), and realizing how barren this place can be was awe-inspiring. This place regularly has around 100,000,000 people per year (100 million!)

Denver International Airport - America's largest (and wierdest) airport.

DIA was built grossly overbudget ($1.7 billion USD over budget), and delayed by a few years. It features both odd construction choices (fabric roofs) and one of the most massive airports in history.

With airlanes built almost like a freaky swastika, the airport is huge - 52 square miles, or 130 square kilometers.

Not only this, the actual construction is built on sacred Indian grounds, which typically (atleast for Americans) invokes some pretty strange stuff sometimes.

The actual inside(s) of the airport are huge. There are 4 massive sections the the airport (3 concourses) and a main terminal - all connected by an electric railway system.

Not only this, the airport has faced quite a bit of controversy, and conspiracy. The murials inside of the airport are rather cryptic at times - some argue that they are depicting a New World Order, or global government. These pictures are throughout the airport:

Odd, eh? They're found throughout the airport.

Mind you, each concourse is entirely blocked off from the outside world. The only way to the terminal, to get out of the facility, is only accessible via a train - unless your fortunate enough to be in Concourse A wich features the Jeppesen walkway (which is massive)

Not to mention the conspiracy theories - some underground railways are not accessible by typical train patterns, or so it seems. Could there be something else underneath such a massive complex? Although that's typically a dumb question, a video game could go a very, very long way with it.

So just a few ideas. Capcom, if your listening, do it!

Wow, that would be awesome.

Not a bad idea but shooting up an airport may not sit well with some ppl.

As highly inappropriate as it is i've always thought a school would be a nice setting. All the classes/bathrooms/closets you don't know where the next zombie/whatever is gonna jump out of.

Yeah, awesome till you realize the trains are probably shut down, and every one of the 300 doors in the concourses are all locked. But again, my "horror" story could be the makings of something neat.

Dead Rising 1 was built off of a fanciful shopping mall (but not unlike many American shopping malls). DIA is much more massive, and has more horrific elements in it - walking into a plane, only to have DVD screens pop down showing a strange fuzzy tape (which really happened to me, on my flight to NYC in a A319 - it was the strangest thing seeing a DVD player show a video that looked like it was from the 1970's, despite the fact that A319's have only been around since the late 90s)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

=p Would be cool.

That picture is really fucking weird.

azrm2k - Condemned Criminal Origins had a level that took place in an old school where a janitor (I believe) was brutally slashed up and dumped inside of a school locker....So an airport wouldn't be much different.

What'd be neat would be free-roaming inside the airport, and having to deal with an on-going change of humans to zombies, and THEN having to deal with not only the aftermath, but the beginning (and the fact that every door was locked and gated shut).

/\ A scene from Condemned inside the school. Definately one of the freakier levels (as you had to follow the blood trail of a guy getting drug around the school)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

^ About Condemned. I prefered the level in that house;..It was so scary to hear some psycho's breaking windows and hear them running through the house =p.
