Mccain is bush's dog

McCain and Bush are actually very against each other. McCain ran against him for the nomination both times and both times they feuded.

If you think McCain is anything like Bush, you are ill informed.

If I was an American, and not afraid of Hilary Clinton, I would vote for Clinton because her presidency would piss off a lot of people in the world and their outrage would open the eyes of a lot of a lot of overly idealistic progressive voters.

There is an odd paradox in the western world that the same people who condemn a democratically elected government in a western nation for only offering a civil union to a homosexual couple (or for putting any restriction on abortion) will support nations that would stone women and homosexuals for living the lifestyle they're free to live in the contries they condemned. When these countries have a "negative" reaction to a woman president I suspect a lot of these same overly idealistic progressive voters will start to see these countries for what they really are ...

Hillary Clinton is by far the best Democratic candidate. If people want to vote Democrats, they should not be put off in the least because of what some people half a world away would think of a female president.

Western countries are not nearly as progressive in terms of women leaders as you think.
I cannot say I have lost any sleep because voters decided on people and those people just so happened to not be females.  Your thought process scares me :(

Well Indonesia is the largest Muslim country and it had a women president ages ago. They care more about if americans are invading their countries and killing their people., than if their leader is a women.

But I hope Obama wins.

Very rightly said... Obama will be equally hated if he goes on the killing spree just like Bush.

Germany has a female chancellor (like president) right now. She has been chilling in Saudi Arabia and it wasnt a problem. I wouldnt worry too much.

Canada's PM doesn't count. That was a pathetic political move to garner support in a time of sliding support. :/ She also got hit by a car on a bike. :P

India, Pakistan and other muslim countries have had female leaders, and for the west Britian had Margaret Thatcher for a long time. Also many Middle Eastern countries are very progressive and life for women isn't much different than here, except of course for cultural and religious observations. In Jordan women where a habib out of choice, not requirement. So I don't think it would affect opinions in the Middle East much at all.

They may sneer in some of the more backwards countries, but end of the day they'll care much more about the President's policies then gender.

Leaders should be chosen because they are effective.  However, do you really think that all these western countries like US, France, and with only 1 exception in, Britain, Canada, Germany, never were able to find any women leaders that were as qualified to lead as their male counterparts?

Is Bush really that much more qualified to lead than any other females in the US?  Exactly.  Your thought process scares me as well, its that way of thinking like that which constantly reinforces the very real glass ceiling in American society.

Isn't the question how americans will react with a female president.
