Hunter x Hunter, Higurashi, Elfen Lied, and Yumeria.
I have seen parts of Hunter X hunter back when I was a little kid ^_^

Higurashi sounds interesting as well, though the art seems too.. "colorful"?
Would you mind rating it from 1-10, 10 being the highest, also rate Elfen lied and HxH for a point of comparison pls. thank you

I'm not so into Yumeria.

thats right, there are some rumors about a live action movie based on the series as well... the rumor even included the same studio and director behind LOTR movies. Though I don't know if they have gotten anywhere with that.

Watch in this order.
Evangelion series -> Evangelion Movie

Personally I've never liked action movies.
I've only seen one though.
The deathnote action movie....

Evangelion is quite possibly one of the worst anime ever made.  It's good for maybe 2-3 episodes around the time Asuka joins the cast but quickly flushes any hope for mediocrity down the toilet.

After watching the series I can quite adamantly say that I wish for those hours of my life back.  I'd rather watch Sexy Commando or Idol Project than Evangelion.

Evangelion gets a WoW rating of 1 retarded protagonist out of 5.

Try Scrapped Princess for something more interesting.

My friend says he recommends a series called "Suzuka" :x I'm not sure if it will be to your liking but I'd look into it :)

Yeah, I'll look into it ^_^

sorry to disappoint guys, but I'm not really looking into anime movies right now.

I've seen scrapped princess. Really high production values.
Though the story wasn't really interesting.
It wasn't bad, but it wasnt great either.

Hellsing Ultimate (4th episode came out a while ago)

Tenjou Tenge (lacking in story, but the action is cool)

Key the Metal Idol

Spice and Wolf (I recently just started watching this, it's about 13 episodes long. A fantasy/romance anime about a merchant and wolf deity.)

Karin

Death Note

Monster

Azumanga Daioh

Lucky Star

I've seen deathnote, It was awesome while it lasted. It's not really memorable though.
I lost interest in monster.
Bought the DVD of azumanga daioh off bestbuy, I didn't like it prolly because it was dubbed.
Lucky star doesn't interest me.

Karin, sounds interesting.

For a cult classic Mecha try Neon Genesis Evangelion. One of the best "battle mech" series ever. Though it gets very trippy in the message and meaning towards the end.

I've been avoiding that series, since I've heard it doesn't really end with the ending.
I've seen a lot of people pissed and disappointed at the ending.
They say its a Gainax thing.

Evangelion is the greatest anime series of all time.  The ending is perfect.  And it's definitely not a mecha series.  Mecha just happens to be part of the setting, but it has some of the best character development I've ever seen, and not only in anime.  Every character grows and changes a lot during the 24 episodes that matter.

The problem is that Anno was rushed and he made the last 2 episodes suck 'cuz he was out of time and money.  That's why he made the movies.  You watch the 24 episodes, skip 25 and 26, and then you watch The End of Evangelion, and it's a spectacular climax that ties up all the loose ends.

Or you can wait a few more months, because Anno just re-launched the entire series as a 4 film long series.  I highly recommend the 24 episodes and the movie.  He was just waiting until he had the time and money to end it right, and oh boy, he sure did.

Also, Great Teacher Onizuka is my hero.  Everything I've ever learned in life, I learned from him.  That's my other favorite.

Rhubang you are right in that Evangelion isn't truly a mecha, but I was simply searching for a quick reference point people to understand it by. If I had to classify Evangelion by common standards it probably would be mecha, but truly is a thriller-espionage-philosophical anime. Something more like that is what Evangelion falls into.

So I skip the last two episodes and head straight to the movie. Gotcha.
Evangelion it is then.

Ive already seen GTO. After watching the sucky anime ending I read the manga.
I usually dont want to let go of "open ended things" (used for a lack of word). I usually pursue anime I really like if it wasn't finished, no matter what medium the story goes to. Yes that means I actually played the FSN visual novel(some of you may know it as a dating sim, It's not something to be proud about >.<), and I also read the Berserk manga.

FSN is and probably ever will be my favorite series.
The story is just indescribably great.
And with Unlimited Bladeworks just around the corner im one happy man. ^^
