Oh guys, thanks for all the recommendations, but even though I have free time now, Its still limited so I'm just looking for the really exceptional ones.

Its something I'm craving for at the moment, but yes I like the genre.

For a cult classic Mecha try Neon Genesis Evangelion. One of the best "battle mech" series ever. Though it gets very trippy in the message and meaning towards the end.

I've been avoiding that series, since I've heard it doesn't really end with the ending.
I've seen a lot of people pissed and disappointed at the ending.
They say its a Gainax thing.
