Forums - Sony - PS3/PSP Newbie Needs Some Advice

Hey guys. I've just been ushered into the wonderful world of the PS3 and PSP, and damn glad to be here! I just have a question or two. I've been downloading games from the PS Store on my PS3, and some games state that they are PS3 and PSP compatible. Such games I've aquired so far that support this are Crash Bandicoot, CTR and Theme Hospital. Does this mean I can install them on my PSP and play them on the go? If so, how eactly do you do it?

Sorry if that seams like a stupid question.

Also, I'm looking for some PSN buddies to add to my rather sparse friends list, so if anyone wants to add me, feel free. PSN ID: BenjaminW (I know, the most original name ever!)

Yes you can play the PS1 games on your PSP I believe you have to transfer them from your PS3 to your PSP.

I'm pretty sure you just get on the PStore with your PSP and download them onto it, or you might have to connect your PSP to the PS3 and transfer them that way.

i havent tried it yet but i ttry this.

after you download the game you will see the icon just like the demos have right. so slect the icon pressing triangle and it should say copy. o yea i forgot. have your psp plugged in via usb or flash card then copy the game info into your psp game folder.

if u want a more clear explanation, when your about to dl a game and it has a description it will explain to you how to place it or get it onto your psp

If you put the memory stick in the PS3 and hit the triangle button when you're on a game you can transfer it to the card, and then play it on the PSP. I have Castlevania and Wipeout on my PSP. Then again, that's if you have a PS3 with the card slots, I don't know about the 40GB.

Step 1: Download game from PS Store
Step 2: Go to game menu and install game.
Step 3: Connect PSP via USB
Step 4: Turn on PSP
Step 5: Go the settings menu on PSP and click on USB Connection
Step 6: Go the PS3 and highlight game you want to transfer
Step 7: Press Triangle and select copy

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Yup, just sync those suckers up and you should be able to copy it to your psp. My brother has a PsP and thats how I transfered my music to his PsP so it should work. . EDIT: jman explains it ^

Excellent, thanks guys! I love that Sony allows you to do this. Considering that most games on PSN are a lot cheaper than the average game on XBL, and this awesome PS3/PSP integration, it just seems to me that Sony has all the right components to win this generation.

Anyway, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!

I thought I'd like to chime in and add that you can copy the save data over also ^^, so if you play on your PSP, and feel like playing it on your PS3 instead, you just hook the USB cable back up and or insert the card and you just pull the data off via the save data utility :P

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.
