So far I can think of three for Mario, and  two for Sonic, and Kirby; Underground, Haunted Mansion, and Castle for Mario, Lush Hillside and Baddass Angry Space Station for Sonic, and Subdued Woodland and Colourful Cosmic Horror for Kirby.

 

I am trying to come up with other iconic 2D platforming themes by thinking about different series and thinking up their most iconic themes. Other franchises with comparable history (like Megaman) and one more for Kirby and Sonic would be great. Anyone want to help?

Personally I prefer Aquatic Ruin or Hydrocity act 2.
