Forums - General - Album Review : NiN Ghosts, Volumes I - IV

It's only been out for four days, but it's already a gigantic success. new servers were needed, official sites crashing , even the 2500 personally signed albums (that costed 300 dollars!!) were sold out in less than two days. So what is this all fuzz all about? Why is it so great?

Trent has really outdone himself this time. With no vocals on the entire albums someone would say, hey that would get boring right? Wel i got news for you - it doesn't get boring, ever. It's like the reinvention of the word industrial, this is what the genre needed, and in specific the band itself.

The 36(!!) songs are divided into four volumes. None of the song are the same, they each start on a special way, a way only Trent could ever do. According to him, the entire record is done in 10 weeks, with no planning what so ever. I can just imagine him sitting there, in hong kong (where he is a lot lately), closing his eyes, and just come up with music randomly, and it all sounds great. I already have choosen my favorite Ghosts, but to be honest, they are all great, there is a good song for everyone in there, even for those that don't like Industrial. A lot of these songs are gonna be used in commerials and of movies, that is for sure. They have this epic feeling attached to it, just like the song 'Like You Imagined', used in the trailer of the movie 300.

They all have a lot of energy in them, a relaxed feeling only Trent can give to the people. I really can't describe specificly how i feel about the albums, i just know i feel great when just listening to it, it makes me smile, even when i'm feeling down. You should all buy it if you need inspiring music, or just simply relaxing music. It's that great.

4.5/5

I love the couple of tracks that I've heard from here. I've only listened to four, twenty four, and fourteen? I think.

I've been listening to nothing but Ghosts these past few days. I love the songs. I have a "thing" for Nine Inch Nails instrumentals, that's why I love The Fragile and Still the most out of all of Trent's work. I was really bummed back before With Teeth came out when Trent said "no instrumentals" but he sure made up for that mistake with Ghosts.
And for 36 songs, I'm sure it's the best $5 I ever spent.

Very surprising that somebody with a nine inch nails picture for their icon, nine inch nails picture in their signature and "trent reznor is god" would give the album a good review. Very inciteful.

Well I am very excited about this. The instrumentals are always my favorite. Thanks for the review.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
