There is already in game advertising in all the other Blizzard games that use Battle.net. While not in a game but in Battle.net there is an advertisement banner on the top of the screen, I think they could just be referring to this.

That is exactly it, the person who did the interview got the game and battle.net mixed up, but the advertisements will be in the battle.net lobby like it always has.
