Forums - Gaming - A Look into Brazilian Gaming Market

Well, Nintendo is pulling out the support from Brazil, for foreigners it might be a little complicated to understand why, and how does Brazilian gaming market works.

I would like to share with you a video I once saw that explain many things, I can assure you that almost everything there is coherent.

He says that a X360 game after 6 months costs 120 to 160 dollars? That's wrong. Launch PS4/X1 titles are R$ 200 (US$ 75) and after 6 months it is even cheaper.

Thanks for the insight, yes that's wrong, even with today high dollar rate.

Edit: Looking by the date of the video, at that time the dolar was 1,6 - 1,8 BRL. So 120 USD would be around 200 BRL, and the price of games in Brazil back them was around 200-250, which is quite accurate.

Yes, and for Nintendo Gamers this will be shit. I live in Europe as right now, but I do buy games in Brazil for the Xbox One... Fifa 15 in Brazil is 140 BRL in Submarino, which is cheaper than buying it here, because the Euro and Dollar is worthing a lot in Brazil. So I just use my Euros to buy games there.

To do the opposite is a pain in the ass, importing a game now is not a very good option, it's better to rely in the Grey Market.
