Ps4 #10 in the hourly and Xbox #22

Yeah the drop is happening much faster than I expected. There are still a lot of vendors selling it under the $399 price. Also, AC Unity isn't exactly the best game out there. Most people won't want to buy that Unity bundle now that the price is back to normal.

PS4 is still offering a free game out of a choice of 4 though. If it wasn't for that it would be dropping too.

So right now you can get a $399 XBO with Unity and Black Flag OR a $399 PS4 with free Destiny, LBP 3, NBA 2k15 or Far Cry 4.

Based on popularity/reviews its not hard to see why people are picking the the $399 PS4 right now. Just goes to show you how big of a difference price makes. Microsoft really messed up in bringing that price back up. It's going to kill any momentum they had from the holidays.

(OT: Anyone know if the white PS4 will ever release by itself in the US? I thought that was supposed to come out during the holidays?)

Well seing the third parties offering the consoles for lower than 399... it could be speculated how much of those were from "companies" that bought the consoles for 330 during BF and other holidays promotions and is now selling for profit on Amazon? Will that impact much Jan-Jun NPD?

It's definitely a possibility. We won't know until next month though...

Yep, but even with NPD numbers we won't be sure how much it impacted.

If it was people who bought from Amazon or any retail store then set up a "small store" on Amazon it shouldn't impact NPD at all since it won't count doubled (besides NPD tracking 90% of retail and extrapolating Amazon, so this sales would probably not show, then my assimption that NPD for Jan could be lower than normal because a lot of people will buy from this small guys and avert some from retail).

To further complicate the issue, Amazon did not have a lot of the better offers of brick and mortar retailers and does not make up for the majority of consol sales.

That offer ended last week.

I think the ps4 offer at 399 with 1 games ended a couple of days ago.  All I see is ps4 at 399 without games at least directly from amazon.
