The cell can warp fanboy sites into Sony sites while playing video games and doing your laundry. Thats what the 8th SPU is used for.

Jandre. Do you honestly believe that Sony will cut the price of the Playstation 3 by $100 BEFORE April 28th? Hell, they just had their 1st (2nd depending on how you see it) price cut in November. If as you say DLC means nothing to anyone, then this fight is already over. $299 vs $349 (at best). |
Yes I do, if Microsoft does it. By normal logic 2 price cuts wont happen within a year of each other. But you have to remember this is a totally different SKU. Price didn't come down naturally, they were forced down. Its not an analysis of the current situation your looking at, but history. This generation is clearly unique since pricing is driving sales more than ever before, and never have we had such huge modifications to an initial SKU.
But I completely believe Sony will cut the price if MSFT does. They have to. They have been preparing for this price cut since last year. You dont really think that MSFT dropping price will catch Sony off guard do you? Its why the PS3 has cut production costs faster than any console in history. It knows it will come, and is ready for it.
So $299 vs $349 would be my guess, with DLC on one side and BR, MGS4, and brand name on the other. Promised there WILL be some people who simply dont know that GTA4 is on the 360.
Microsoft has already won this generation. Will they be #1? No. Will they be #2? Probably not. But the important thing is that they will by generations end have an instalation base larger than that of the Xbox and already has superior software sales.
Microsoft has expanded their share in the market, and more importantly they've almost single handedly duped Sony into playing the Technology Arms Race which crippled the Ps3's chances for another successful console.
If Sony can stick out what it did last year, I think the 360 will be more than content to survive at its current pace, turning a profit on each console and offering thus far, the best game library without question.
People so badly wanted us to believe Sony wouldn't leave gaming despite the horrors of the PS3 last year, yet now those same people want us to believe the 360 is doomed now for not even a fraction of the hardship the PS3 has endured. Though I'm sure you'd like us to believe Sony is so capable of adapting and MS isn't.
wow ps3 doesnt really need japan anymore.
you what i hate? i hate how japan dicides to slip in sales as soon as america has a steady 80-90,000 a week. imagin if japan still had a 50,000 a week in sales, the lead would have been even further.

Sony needs to start proving they can make the PS3 profitable to investors. For MS, games are meant to be a loss-leader, but for Sony, they are meant to be a cash-cow. Sony has been steadily cutting features out of the PS3, but Microsoft has been steadily cutting costs as well. Face it, we know NOTHING of Microsoft's and Nintendo's cost-cutting over the past year.
If Sony cut the PS3 to $299, it would NEVER be profitable (over it's lifetime). This simply isn't an option for Sony in the way it is an option for MS. Furthermore, MS's advertising of GTAIV is going to be EPIC.

First price cut was just before E3. And yes, they could drop the price.

Hopefully more successful than their EPIC ads for Lost Odyssey.

Last time I checked Lost Odyssey was doing very well for a JRPG in the states?
