No its not, when writing an article you can never say its okay if I left out information because its in articles that I referenced.  That's just lazy.  Also your ignoring the fact that the article implies the figures are current, its not if people care, people are gonna assume the numbers are current from how the article is written.

Well it does say 23.5m at least. And besides, those are the latest offcial numbers we have.

I know the Wii U doesn't is not a beast like the PS4 when it comes to sales.But the article was about disproving the death of consoles, the higher the number , the better the article would be at showing that consoles are very much alive.

Please read the thread...I said it was okay to use those figures, but its not okay to imply they are current and not give a date for when they were announced.  Saying at least means nothing.

The headline is divisive. This has nothing to do with xbox v ps4. He is simply saying consoles are doing better the people expected. Your interpretation and subsequent words are massively ironic.

Right now nothing can compete with the console as a format. It's not like the handheld situation where phones and tablets compete there is nothing new for people to use as opposed to a console (PC has always been there and will never be a direct competitor)



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

The whole death of console crap was just that; crap. Also went to sow just how outta touch the game journalism is and their heavy focus on sensationalist writing. How anyone can look at mobile/smartphone/tablets as a direct replacement to console gaming is beyond me. Its sad that it took these new consoles selling as much as they did and as quickly as they did to drive that point home.

They all looked at the stupid stuff and failures nintendo had with the wiiU and just marked that as the harbinger of consoles demise. Talk about being really outta touch with the industry they are supposed to represent.
