Forums - Gaming - Square Enix confirms: "Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity does have a duration but we aren't [allowed] discussing those details at this time"

they will make a x360 version..... yeah time well spent square....

They should've put in the contract that they can't talk about duration and not even talk about that they can't talk about it.

I'm pretty sure it is in the contract, and that this is their way of telling us that the contract doesn't allow them to talk about duration, but also doesn't allow them to talk about the other details of the contract except for the part about talking about the existence of duration in the contract.

We already knew this as well. It's still a big win for Microsoft.

Nope, I do not see how by holiday 2015, with potentially around 40M PS4s on the market to 20-25M XB1s on the market, that this is in anyway a big win for MS. Especially if before its even released the fact that its also coming to the PS4/PC is more news than it being a timed exclusive for the XB1. Especially if its coming out around the same time that Uncharted 4 is being released.

I'm still trying to figure out why this game is crossgen when it's launching holiday 2015.

i think most publishers thought that the transition to next gen consoles wont be so fast. i mean, PS4 is the fastest selling console in history, and i dont think anyone expected that. last gen is dying out faster than most expected, and most publishers already had games in development for them already. i do think the last gen ports will be cancelled though.

I mean I expected the new systems to sell well, but I didn't expect last gen software sales to die off so quickly, that caught me by surprise. The only releases which done well on last hardware it seems were COD and Fifa.

frankly i'm shocked people still care at this point.

I think the "can't talk about duration" thing is actually in the contract and was put there by MS. Phil is responsible for being the first to blab^^

The SE guy didn't say that. The writer of the article did.
