Forums - Gaming - remember when controllers weren't $50?

Most accessories are expensive nowadays, There is a reason I only ever had 1 PS2 memory card. :P

Hmm, pie.

Remember when controllers weren't wireless?

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I honestly don't care paying the premium for a good first party controller. Third party controllers have let me down in the past and I'm never going back. I'm not saying the price isn't high but if I have to pay it then I will.

dual shock 3 55 bucks?

wow that m eans it gunna be 67 bucks canadian

Actually now it would be 54 bucks canadian

Yes, most first party controllers are the best, so you pay a little more for them.

I agree it's still a rip-off as they do not cost much more then a couple of dollars to make, especially later on in the consoles life.

no matter which of the 3 major consoles you own, you are most likely paying out the ass to play your games.

xbox 360 controller - $50
ps3 sixaxis- $50
ps3 daul shock 3 (coming soon)- $55
wii mote + nun chuk- $60 (add another $20 for every classic controller if you want to play certain vc games).

wasn't it only last gen that i was throwing down $30 for the daul shock 2? screw that, i would get a wired controller if it saved me $25 a pop.
you do know that the prices where the same for ps1 ps2 n64 dreamcast xbox etc controllers when those consoles were new

^^

not according to everyone here including myself who bought several daul shock 2s right when they hit the market for $30.

Gamecube controllers are STILL $25 . I just bought 2 today USED for 30 bucks total.
