The PS4 is already really slim. If they make it any smaller, I'ld buy one just to tear it open to figure out how they did it. The PS4 right now is packed to the gills. A change to it would blow my mind.

I agree that a release of another version is viable as sales dictate. The options are also very grand in the consoles future endeavers, like Morpheas and the way they want the PlayStation to look visually futuristic.

I think the new version is going to be the same height, 1 inch narrower, half inch longer, rounded corners with a slanted front face, easier disc slot, and vents running up the from the USB slots that were also moved closer to the side, and the blue light strip lights the PS4 logo and stretches along the front to the back from the top. With three colors: black, white, and two-tone.
