Yeps, return the faulty controller and get a new one.

I use my smartphone wall charger lol. The cord of the controller is so short and my tv is like 2 metres away from me so it's pretty more useful charging it from the wall and I read somewhere it's fine.

I will give that a shot, what type of phone do you own?

Yeah any phone charger with the right connection will work. I charge mine with a Note 2 charger. Or if like me you have a laptop etc thats pretty much always on and near to where you game, run a USB cable from there to your Dual Shock and charge whilst playing.

The smartphone is a crappy one, but all you need is the right microusb cable that has to be the same as the one from the DS4, but I think it-s pretty standard in all smartphones minus iPhones I think. But if you want a new cord and longer cord you can easily finds ones very cheap too.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Indeed. It's terrible.
I get like 6 hours out of it, but that isn't much better.
And I thought the Wii U gamepads battery was bad.
But atleast the controller has a light on the back...

agreed it sucks was gettin 4-6 hrs when playing cod aw but get a bit more with GTA 5 must be b/c COD has more rumble

would get way more with the ps3 controller 14 minimum no matter what game, the touch pad, earphones, light and speaker must be the culprit since the ps4 battery is 1000mah compared to 800 of the ps3

tried a 2000mah battery from ebay with no success got the same time but others have reported great results with 2000mah waiting for this site to restock em https://www.fasttech.com/search?ps4

i have the long cable for the ps4 but have not used it since i disocover that it will charge with the wall jack my phone uses i have alot of cables coming out of the center already just got to spoiled from last gen with the ps3 i dont want to play with a cable on the controller

Thank you, will come in handy from time to time and for couple dollars, why not?

Any longer micro usb cable will work. I just keep the thing plugged in and sometimes unplug it for extra mobility. Here in Canada, a 6 foot cable ranges from 7-10 dollars. I keep a few around for my various phones, tablets and controllers.

Also, the charge cable that comes with an XBone controller is like...9-10 feet or something. Those also work with the Dual Shock 4.

Same as others, mine lasts about 7-8 hours. I never play that much at once though, so I guess I can say it lasts 3-4 days.
I suggest not buying anything extra, no sense wasting money, when you can just use your smartphone charger in between sessions. It takes about 2-3 hours to for a full charge (0-100%), so I never consider the battery life to be a problem.
(Unless you play 8 hours straight, but then you have more problems than just the battery life)

I play with my controller hooked up to a long usb cord about 80% of the time. It does not really annoy me that much.
Everyone should also put their controller's light settings down to the lowest possible.

It is kind of a shame the charge is so short.
