mature games can't sell on WiiU unless they're exclusives, meta 90+ and pushed by the publisher, the press and the fans...

And even with all that it may struggle.

Expected. And after Bayo 2 fiasco we should only wait for Devil's Third to really conclude that there isn't a market for mature games on Nintendo consoles.

Bayonetta 2 fiasco? it's doing better than the first game.

It was to be expected.

An unwinnable test, of course. Why buy late, full-price games that give you nothing extra to sweeten the pot? Doing so would only convince third parties that it's okay to keep treating Nintendo consumers like something they just scraped off of their shoe.

This woudn't have sold well if it released day and date with the other versions, there are enough other games that prove this.

No, it would have sold pretty well if it released on time, 500k+ ltd. after all the BS, it'll struggle to reach 200k.

I'm more surprised this game was released.

A significant amount of peeps (enough at least to make a decent community on Miiverse) seem to have downloaded it, buying it digitally, not physically. But yes, it was never going to do well, the way Ubisoft handled it.

Sad, really. It could have done better. If they had released it on time, or better yet, worked on it some more with all that extra time, given it some REAL exclusive content to care about, and released it for at least $10 cheaper than full price, and it might have done better. And not releasing it right before Smash, yeah, bad move.

They really did set it up to fail. First screwing Wii U out of Rayman exclusivity (which all those other ports didn't even wind up netting them much in sales), and then this. *shrugs*

Oh well. There are a lot of great looking eShop games in the pipeline. I think I'm good.

it didn't have extra time. ubisoft pathetically moved the developers of the wii u version to the other versions.

That's not a valid comparison.  There weren't next-gen re-releases of Mass Effect 2, 6 months before the PS3 version came out.  The difference here is that there's 360 and PS4 versions of Watch Dogs.  Anyone interested in the game isn't going to meet the Wii U version right in the middle.  Well, some people will, but generally speaking.  If someone wants watch dogs, and gets it for Wii U, they probably had no intention of ever getting a PS4 or Xbox One.

No matter how you say third party games don't sell in Nintendo platform. Look at AC IV PS4 and Wii U sales. Even worse PS Vita AC Liberation sold 1 million copies where Nintendo platform failed to achieve it.

one whole example? and AC liberation was exclusive. how about talking about rayman legends?

Rayman Legends sold better on the WiiU...

.....Wait....you're going to compare a platformer on Nintendo to a AAA TPS? Good lord man, now you're grasping at straws! Come on! Platformer= Nintendo! Please dude.

1. It didnt it sold best on PS3

2. it doesnt matter cause taht game didnt do well anyway/

with the difference in installed bases, it sold far better on wii u.

Bayonetta 2 didn't sell very well for a Nintendo published IP. It won't have Mario Kart legs either.
3rd Party Rated-M games really don't have a market on the Wii U.

I blame Nintendo executives who publicly call PS4/XB1 BORING. It looks like BORING sells so maybe people like BORING games?

Maybe people forgot that Nintendo exists, and I'm being serious. There are also many prejudices against Nintendo, like they only make Zelda, Mario and Pokémon games, but actually they have a good bunch of IPs but they pass unnoticed because they don't catch too much attention.

And we still don't have confirmed numbers for Bayonetta 2 in the United States. Even if it has already vanished from British and Japanese charts, I hold my breath

That's on Nintendo to be honest. There is VERY little advertising coming out of Nintendo in the UK and North America. Unless it's one of their big names, they don't commercialize it on TV, billboards. I don't even see anything in Gamestop. You walk into Gamestop and even C-list Xbox One/PS4 games are being advertised around the store, especially during the summer when bigger titles are scarce, yet there is hardly anything about games like Wonderful 101, Professor Layton and so on. Not every single gamer spends time on message boards where they can be exposed to these types of games, I know I wouldn't have known about Wonderful 101 had it not been for VGC.

According to VGChartz, but there is a rumor that NPD for October (aka Bayo 2 first week) has it only at 70k... here is the link for the rumor:
