Forums - Gaming - Best TV's for Gaming?

I recall seeing some site with input lag information on many TVs... Anyway, cnet did some tests recently and it confirmed what I suspected, Sony TVs are great for gaming... Samsung TVs tend to do a lot of image processing, this takes time and it makes your games less reactive (you'll get killed more often, hit walls, miss precise high speed manoevers, etc).

as someone else noted, the console does netflix, etc, so no need to bother with the media features (chances are they will be there anyway, just not as responsive since the computer in these tvs is rather minimalistic).

Anyway, beyond this, samsung tvs are great, just not the best choice for gaming.

really? I've recently bought a 55" samsung 4k that was at good price for gaming.

The only thing I don't like about really large TV's is I hate playing multiplayer games with them. Single player games are fine and it's definitely best to play them on a large screen to get the full experience, but I feel like I'm at a disadvantage when I play something like CoD on my 55 inch TV because it seems like I have way too much screen space to look at and it makes me feel...slower I guess...

Idk it's hard to explain but I just prefer mutliplayer fast paced gaming on a smaller TV, while also sitting fairly close to it.

Oh and I did order that LG TV. I might give some impressions once it arrives in early December, but it'll have to be on PS3 games cause I won't be getting a PS4 until maybe Christmas.

I'm going to try and sell my current TV to try and recuperate some of the money I spent on this new one.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think about this tv - http://www.dynexproducts.com/products/televisions/DX-24E150A11.html

Every time I would play PS3 games on it everything looked so bland and bad. I would look online for screenshots that users uploaded of games like TLOU or GTA V, and then be dumbfounded at how good they look but when I play the game it looked like crap in comparison...

I even played on my 55' Panasonic and it looked waaay better. I don't know if it's just the TV or if I was expecting too much from a 24' screen.

I have a 2005 Apex Digital with no HDMI, so bye

This the one i have and its amazing. 1080p 120Hz

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN32H6350-32-Inch-1080p-120Hz/dp/B00I94IRC2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1416881254&sr=8-5&keywords=samsung+32+led+tv

That looks great, however way over my budget unfortunately.

How about $50 cheaper... for eight inches bigger?

Yep, the 40" model is a steal right right now from both Amazon and Best Buy.  Probably the best balance of quality/value available right now.  Perhaps you could borrow a little extra $ to take advantage of the sale?

It's still really expensive because you have to take into account I'll be having it shipped from US to Canada, so the shipping charges will be high. It's usually 100$ extra when u take into account shipping+Taxes, so it will be $550. That's still a great offer though and I appreciate your advice.

Anyways, I already purchased the LG one so I'll see how that goes. Hopefully I'll like it.

Just got the TV and have been testing it out for a bit! Quick little update on my very early impressions for anyone who cares.

I just got my new TV. I watched 10 minutes of an action scene in Guardians of the Galaxy...Holy shit the sound on this thing is insane. It's almost as if I had a surround sound theatre in my area. I'm really impressed! Just for fun I plugged in my old TV and compared the sound and wow my old TV was utter garbage! I can't believe I've been using it for this long! About to pop into some GTA V/TLOU on PS3 and check out the visuals and sound as well.

Thus far I'm extremely happy. I love how the black bar part that isn't part of the screen is super small. My old TV was a good 1-1.5 inches long and it really took a lot of space, this new LG is about .5 inches. The size is just perfect as well for me. Here are some quick pics I took. Don't mind the mess I'm just too excited to clean it up right now, and yes my PS3 is installing a firmware update lol. Oh also the pictures are super crappy looking cause I took them on my Ipod lol
