Forums - Gaming - Best TV's for Gaming?

My gaming setup is with a 37" VIZIO LED LCD HDTV and I'll game 3 to 4 feet from the screen directly in front of my face. If I could go back and get something different. I would have gotten something bigger so that I wouldn't have to pull my chair up so close. The games like any shooters and when I speed run TRIALS are very important with the fine details and a large viewing surface makes a difference.

I think I'm going to get that LG TV. Seems like a great deal and it's 150$ off right now. I checked the same TV on a Canadian website and it's 350$, but with tax and environmental tax which we have in Canada, it will be well over 400$.

Thanks LemonSlice and everyone else in the thread!!

I'm looking to purchase a TV that I can use for gaming on next gen consoles. I would have preferred a monitor but my dad wants it to be a TV too.

Preferred screen size is 32 inches and somewhere around the $200-350 range. I'm from Canada but I dont mind using some American sites to purchase the TV, but keep in mind of the shipping costs so if you recommend me a 400$ TV it will end up being something like 500$+ with the shipping and taxes...

Anyway, I was eyeing this TV at the moment - http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN32EH5000-32-Inch-1080p-60Hz/dp/B0071O4ETQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416875901&sr=8-1&keywords=samsung+32+inch+tv

It seems to have gotten great reviews and I've checked how much it costs with the shipping and taxes, comes up to about 330$. For some reason my dad wants a Smart TV, but that shit is so useless to me...I will never use any of those apps on it. I don't have netflix or any of that crap, and TV's that have the Smart thing just use that as an excuse to bump the price up.

What do you think of the TV I linked? Do you have anything that's better? HELP PLS

This the one i have and its amazing. 1080p 120Hz

That looks great, however way over my budget unfortunately.

the best tv to get is a projector

For $500-$800 there is a range of 1080p 3d projectors you can get that will allow you have screen sizes from 40" all the way up to 300". And with as little as $50 you can make an ambient light rejecting (aka Black projection screen) if you want to use it optimally regardless of the room lighting.

This is what a black projection screen looks like. What you are looking at is a 110" screen.... Best bit, it screen costs $120. Will cost way leass if you paint directly on your wall (which i wont recommend)

My 55" Sony Bravia is a beast! It's the newest model as well. Well newest if you don't include the 4K TV's.

Best TV for gaming is an HD projector.

Let's see.......50 inches or 120 inches......hmm...

my kinda guy.... and what most dont know about projectors is that you also get the lowest input lag in the industry.

I can't help but feel pity for anyone that actually goes out to buy a tv when they could get a prjector instead.

Ha, i'm gaming on a 120 inch screen right now. I love my protector. I can't go back to gaming on a normal tv now. the immersion is out of this world and when i spend about the same on it as i would have a 55 inch it's really a no brainer. I'm looking at upgrading my benq next year. I have my eye on that sony, but 3 grand is a bit much.

I recall seeing some site with input lag information on many TVs... Anyway, cnet did some tests recently and it confirmed what I suspected, Sony TVs are great for gaming... Samsung TVs tend to do a lot of image processing, this takes time and it makes your games less reactive (you'll get killed more often, hit walls, miss precise high speed manoevers, etc).

as someone else noted, the console does netflix, etc, so no need to bother with the media features (chances are they will be there anyway, just not as responsive since the computer in these tvs is rather minimalistic).

Anyway, beyond this, samsung tvs are great, just not the best choice for gaming.
