#39 - Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
Portable Smash Bros, how wonderful! Coming a month and a half before it's Wii U counterpart this version of Smash 4 is a blast. The new fighters are varied and fun to play as and the good old Smash formula works just as well on the portable device. That being said they are issues with the controls as the circle pad is not as precise as the Gamecube controller but after some practice you can easily get into it.

Super Street Fighter II (SNES/GEN, 1994)
guessed by artur-fernand
Street Fighter II went through five iterations in the early 90s, but in my mind the best of the bunch is the console version of Super Street Fighter II. The game, released in 1994, features sixteen playable characters, twelve carried over from the previous games and four new to the franchise: Cammy, T. Hawk, Fei-Long and Dee Jay. Other novelties include eight color schemes for each character’s costume, new moves and new animation frames, music and sound effects, as well as adjustable game speed. Its greatest achievements, however, are its new game modes, which include time trial, group battle, and tournament battle, an eight-player single elimination tournament.
#38 - Super Smash Bros. Melee
Yes another Smash game! This one came with the greatest controller ever made and provided hours upon hours of fun battling my brothers. This is the game that started the Smash competitive scene and the one some people can't shut up about. While I never got very competitive with this one since it didn't have online capabilities, I loved it nonetheless for all it's crazy fights and epic mayhem.

#37 - The Last of Us
It took me a while to get to play this great game but I'm glad I didn't skip it. Featuring some intense and gritty combat, tense situations and a fantastic story, Naughty Dog took me for one hell of a ride once again! The crafting system, the limited ammo, those damn clickers, all of this helped create a true atmosphere of survival horror.

#36 - Super Castlevania IV
To me, the best of the side-scrolling Castlevanias. Simon Belmont is back and he's learned to whip in all directions now! This game (as many SNES games) has a wonderful sountrack full of classics from the NES games and new haunting tune. The gameplay is solid, the levels hard and unforgiving, the bosses challenging. There's plenty of variety in locations, sub weapons are a bit useless but who cares when you can swing your whip around like a madman?

#35 - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
My favorite game from the immensely talented studio that is Naughty Dog. This game struck the perfect balance between jaw droppingly beautiful locations, intense firefights, great story, awesome cast of characters, bad ass vilain, handsome and funny hero. It had it all.

#34 - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Link's first adventure in 3D was surely a successful one. Filled with huge dungeons to explore, great gameplay mechanics, fun boss fights, some time travelling, Nintendo manage to bring Hyrule to the third dimension with style. I'll on the record to say that I never thought the Water Temple was all that bad... there I said it.

#33 - Mega Man 2
I was lucky enough to buy the best Mega Man game without knowing it. The first game was nowhere to be found and so I went for this one instead. It's a good thing that I did, I played this game over and over again so many times, at first struggling to get through it then challenging myself to beat all bosses with only my regular gun.
Final note, all hail the metal blade, the most kickass weapon in a Mega Man game ever!

#32 - Battletoads
Another NES classic! Battletoads is reknowned for it's difficulty but I'm here to tell you it's not impossible to beat, I managed to do it (once). Featuring a variety rarely seen in NES games, Battletoads always kept me entertained. It had a wacky sense of humor and while it could be frustrating to die so often, you'd always come back for more.
