Forums - Sony - Would piracy be beneficial for Sony?

nobody gets profit from piracy, it may boost the console hardware sales but reduces the software sales

For this to be beneficial to them that must mean they are content to making money on selling the hardware. Now no matter what they make from it it would never be more than about $20-$30. There are much better and easier ways for sony to make $20 than investing heavily in a handheld just to do so. So no.

Personally, I think sony should stop making and supporting the PS vita and PS Tv. waste of money if you ask me. and all redundant hardware.

Well... I know I certainly would love it lolll. But to be honest, if the vita were to get pirated, then sure, it would sell more hardware but I think that whatever little third party support it has would stop entirely cause people are just pirating the games. So, idk if it will be that great cause the vitas userbase isnt large enough to counteract the pirates
