That's 4 games out of tons of games. And only one of them is really applicable. GTA released months later on Xbox. Another one you posted was a port from PS2 to Wii. I would hope a game getting ported to next gen would get better graphics. The other was Splinter Cell, based on an engine built for the Xbox with the original game. Just Cause at least launched together on both consoles.

But again even counting them all, 4 games. Does this mean it wasn't an issue? Because I can definitely point to 4 PS4 games that look better than the Xbone versions. Like, for example... the biggest release of the year. A franchise that is an "Xbox franchise" that MS has a partnership with. Seems if MS were paying for parity they'd start at CoD.

Calm down guys, the PS4 version still might have more pixels.

Surely there will be something to boast about.

Better textures, higher quality foliage, potentially smoother frame rate. These are nice things. But are the p's the same? That's all that matters.

fantastic, another dev holding back a game on PS4 because of inferior hardware on the other console

Yeah, it's so annoying.  But I would wait for the final result, maybe they meant 'graphics parity' for the main asset of the game(geometry, draw distance, etc), but maybe the Game will run at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on XOne ? I dunno. If it's parity everywhere, these devs are crap as PS4 can have up to roughly 90% advantage in GPU performance...  I hope for them it's not 100% parity :)

You will get over it ask PC gamers.

that's different.  There's no PC configuration that they can program for that reaches 12m people and counting

Personally if the developers are working to their own set of standards, like they have an upper limit for how the image quality is meant to look and that's achievable across PC, PS4 and Xbox One then that's fine. As far as I'm concerned developers can do a lot more than they have been with all platforms, they should be pushing their engines further and optimizing better across the board.
I'm sure if Rocksteady were able to achieve what they showed at the last Playstation event on all three systems everyone would be over the moon.

As far as this comment goes graphics usually relates to Image Quality, resolution can help make the IQ shine through and of course frame rate is performance, so this comment may just relate to the image quality of the game, not Resolution. The XB1 and PS4 versions can both be 30FPS have the 900p-1080p gap, PC 60-120FPS or even beyond and run at 4K or whatever and devs are still taking advantage of the differences in hardware, while keeping graphical parity.

People should bare in mind that if a developer says they're aiming for parity in some area, they're only saying that they're aiming, it's not an outright statement of fact, that the game will definitely be exactly the same on all platforms that it's released on.

Bummer, but I will cross my fingers for 1080p on PS4. Surely so.

Didn't bother anyone back in the ps2 gen when gamecube and xbox games were held back by the ps2.

Plenty of games had a significant difference between PS2/Xbox/Gamecube/Wii.

Shhhhhh! Showing games on better hardware (GC/Wii/XB) having better graphics than the PS2 versions doesn't fit the apparent narrative that the PS2 held back games and no one cared. No no no, these videos are all lies. It's photoshop manipulation. The multiplatform games in the PS2 era looked the same across all platforms because PS2 held back what the others could do. If you think Chaos Theory looked better on Xbox or Resident Evil 4 looked better on Gamecube, you're clearly a biased fanboy who is too blinded by your loyalty to Sony to see that PS2 held games back and they all looked the same.

Pretty hard sarcasm fail dude.

Go check history books and tell me why Xbox esclusives or Gamecube exclusives look so much better on those consoles compared to multiplatform.

As soon as someone says something against the Playstation consoles some people......

You know what go and compare God of War Collection on PS3 to the PS2 games. The world geometry and the character models etc are crap. Why? because the PS2 was WEAK. And so even the HD "remaster" (even if its just a lazy upressed port) is held back by the PS2s flaws.

Another example is Crysis 2 on PC. The consoles are significantly weaker than a PC. And in Crysis 2 the whole geometry was blocky. Battlefield 3 is also a pretty blocky game on PC simply because the consoles held back the PC versions. Having higher resolution etc is irrelevant the PC version suffered due to other hardware being crap.

But sure adding some shaders  to Just Cause or some nice snowflakes to TombRaider (which is basically no work) and keeping the rest basic due to the lowest commen denominator is totally not being held back.....

Did ya see that awesome footage with the Batmobile in action? Man! Pretty sweet stuff, am I right?
Gotham will be a whole lot bigger than Arkham City was!

There's more than just four games as BMaker11 was kind enough to point out, I just used those four as a few of the examples.  The difference between those games and the PS4/Xbox One isn't a resolution boost.  All those games are SD res games with better textures, better effects, etc.  The quality is noticeable  regardless of the television you hook them up to.

As long as the effort is put into bringing Xb one up to the potential of PS4 rather than dropping PS4 back to the max possible for Xb one, that is fine.
