It's really not a big deal. Buy the cheaper one. You win either way.

I owned both models at some point and the one with the frontlight is perfectly fine to play in the dark, but the one with the backlight has a noticeable better quality.
If you don't care that much and saves you a lot of money the frontlit model gets the job done, but after using the backlit model I didn't want to use the other one again

I see. Thanks for the advice.

Retro VGC doesn't seem to be all that useful :/

Oh c'mon.

I say pass on it, unless you can't find a better shipping deal, and even if you don't you should reconsider whether you really need one or not. Lack of a backlit screen can become really annoying. Now,  It isn't that much of a downside but you could regret it.

I was just wondering if it was a huge issue or if it's just blown out of proportion, I really need another GBA, and this is the cheapest I can get by far (Unless those German/French sellers who sell AGS101 models for like 5 euros get back to me on shipping to Israel).

Well, there are modfiying kits, or lighting accessories but I don't know if there are any that fit the SP.

I guess you should think about when and where you'll be playing it. If you generally play games in dark rooms, in transit, or at night you should pass. Play in bright rooms, or outside when it's sunny, go ahead and get it.

Not really helpful but the game in the image, Golden Sun is simply amazing. Big nods to earlier final fantasy games. A.must play for any GBA gamer!

Get a copy of both games if you can!

Lol, you're telling this to one of the biggest GBA fans on the site. and also one of the biggest Golden Sun fans (;

Ok then. I'll ask a question!

Should I buy the third game? Heard mixed things... I still have a DS to transfer my Lost Age save file over, assuming you can. I'll probably play it on my 3DS XL though.

Ok then, I'll be using it in daytime when my brother and I play some F-Zero and Pokemon ^^
