The first Yakuza sold around 750,000 and the second around 650,000.

The second game achieved those sales on a userbase of almost 20,000,000 a few months before the PS3 was released. 

How many copies do you think Yakuza 3 will sell given it is going to a userbase approximately one ninth the size?

I expect some additional hardware sales for the PS3 in Japan next week, perhaps settling at a rate a few thousand above current until MGS4. 

Do you think Yakuza 3 will do anything to lift PS3 sales out of dire straits in Japan?  How many consoles will be sold next week, where will sales settle?

Sounds extremely far fetched... but i have a hunch this will be the Yakuza series breakout game.

Yakuza 2 probably would of sold better had it ever been released in the US. (I don't think it has... has it?)

Amusingly it got rated 38/40 by Famitsu. you'd expect someone to bother and distribute a 38 out of 40 game.

Or maybe I just want it to be.

Wonder if it'll be released outside of Japan.

Yakuza =  Japanese maffia.

So Yakuza is a game about the Japanese maffia  1 and 2 hold place in our timeperiod while 3 goes back to the beginning/birth of the Yakuza;.

Strange acient China games do better in sales than Japanese acient games....Hmmm...(Dynasty Warriors).

According to this site there were only sales in Japan, so I don't know if either game came out in the West. 

The first Yakuza came out in the state Septer 5,2006 and retailed for $49.99. IGN gave the game an 8.2

I believe that the game will sell very well on the PS3 both of its predecessors did fairly well
