Forums - Gaming - Impending Game Journalism Crash

Sure. It's funny that a lot of outlets seem to consider themselves new media simply because they're online, but then they behave exactly like old media. YouTube and the like is the real new media, as any gamer with any preference can find a content creator to whom they can relate far better and whose opinions are much more relevant and valuable to them than those of some haughty blogger.

Add in the fact that a number of these old bloggers decided that it would be a brilliant idea to declare war on much of their own audience, and it's not going to end well for them.

I have never quite understood that part. You start a publication that covers games for gamers. Ten you start personalizing things too much and antagonize your audience. Then you go out calling your audience stupid or fanboys. Absolute shocker.

Any self respecting game journalist should at least know or be able to navigate game fanboyism. Its an ugly thing but its the one constant with every generation of the gaming industry.

Around the Network

Nintendolife will be around. I actually enjoy that site and it almost has a Nintendo Power vibe but with actual ratings you can trust. I've enjoyed every game that I bought that scored at least a 7 from Nintendolife. Fewer trolls and mostly just people that enjoy Nintendo. Yep this is the site I go to when I'm bored with VGC bickering.

Watching people talk about video games on youtube?  Sounds lame.  Give me Nintendolife or death.  I'd rather read articles than watch some douchebag.
