Registered users? Is there a way to e a registered user without buying or is that 9.5m sell through? #

COD must've sold better than Destiny in the first day I presume

You sign into Bungie.net I think. But no, you don't have to buy the game to be registered.

um, you have to buy the game to be a registered USER. Also they did not say the Bungie website has 9.5 million, it says Destiny does.

I take this stat to mean 9.5 million unique acounts have played Destiny. Not sure if that means they are double counting some (If 2 people share a PS4 I would assume that would be 2 register uses for one sale)

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Well honestly I don't know, the way they word things is very shady. Especially since they aren't giving real sold numbers.

If Destiny 2 is already in development, this means the finger to everyone that bough Destiny 1 and excepted it to be a 10 year game which Bungie already said that it would be. I am happy though cause the game has potentinal just the consoles holding it back with its limitations. Should have been PS4,  Xbox One and PC exclusive imo. Hopefully next game comes for PC cause this type of game is really bad on console, the loading times is horrible and a game shouldn't be less than 60 fps period.

It is unique PSN/XBL registered to Destiny's servers.

BTW Bunglie.net have only 5.5m users registered... a lot don't have either PSN or XBL and don't play Destiny.

Most were probably from the Beta then right?

You mean the 9.5m? No... just the actual Destiny game.

Or the Bungie.net? It is just because anybody can register on it... like with a Facebook account or anything else... to receive news or post on forum whithout ever touch Destiny.

9.5m unique PSN/XBL accounts.

Remove the users/copies that got traded, family/friend sharing, friends that played a little on friends... well you will have minimum ~8 million games sold... VGC have Destiny at 7 million already... add 1 million digital and voila the numbers are the same.

I just think 1.5 million users using the same copy of Destiny too much... so VGC is a bit undertracked.

My personal estimate is 8.5m games sold right now with retail + digital.

It will be way ahead 10 million after holidays... PS4 version alone will be close to 7 million.

I have always taken the 10 year thing to mean each game will expand the same universe. You know allow you to go to Jupiter, Saturn, etc. Also in development  could mean 3 years down the road. I think it means we will get Destiny 2 in 2016 though, but I could see 17 also (They already stated it would be a trilogy and 3 year cycle between would makes sense for 10 years of new content.

The way people defended the game was with the 10 year argument. Saying that Destiny shouldn't be reviewed so low or criticized over the story because more content will come over the 10 years. Even though the deal between Bungie and Activision was 4 games between 2013 and 2023.

Well, the story is hard to defend. But the score were way to low. Incredibly fun game to play have made a ton of friends due to the way the raid makes actually have to go out and meet people.

Bungie created a new type of game with Destiny and tried to do things and combine elements not usually done. I am confident the next one will be even better.
