Forums - General Discussion - Mac mini display to HDMI

So I have a 13" Early 2011 Macbook Pro.  I have a cable which is mini display on one end and HDMI on the other.  I have used it for just under 6 months to connect to my HDTV (actually various ones).  It's worked like a charm.  But the last time I tried it, it was having issues.  Both ports still work as the screen adjusts to the TV when I plug in the cable (it flashes black and some things get smaller which is what always happened) but the TV says there is no signal on that HDMI.  I know both ports are working because otherwise the Mac would not recognize that it had been plugged in on that end.  It seems to be something software related but there's not a lot of options when I go in display on the system preferences so I'm not sure what to do.  Has anyone had a similar problem?  And yes I've tried restarting the computer.
