In this thread about the world record 3d mark 06 score it says the computer was able to calculate pi to 1m places in less than 8 seconds. Using this program I was able to do it in 33 seconds on my 6000x2.

How fast is your pc?

Is there a Linux equivalent? Wine crashes.

If there was a source download I would think about it... not interested in executable.

43 seconds on my laptop (Pentium M @ 1.86 GHz).

Athlon 64 6000+ X2 also and I got 28 seconds for 1M.

Oddly enough I watched task manager and while it was running the programme was using a steady 50% processor usage all the time... 

Program probably isn't multithreaded.

That's because the program is single-threaded, hence it only uses one of the cores in your Core2 Duo CPU. Windows then shows 50%, which means half of the total processing power is being used.
