Only way i probably would get it is if I found it at gamestop for under 5 dollars and decided i didn't need the full racing game. Of course people also pay two three times the price of a console or game just to get it first... when they could wait... like a week. |
It has online play and is priced the same as Warhawk. It's a decent deal. A lot of people thought Warhawk should have been $30, too. From what I've heard on podcasts, they may just do DLC for damage, new cars, more tracks, and other features, and then just release the full package at retail at GT5. The DLC better not add up to more than $60 under that system since I assume GT5 will be $60. As for me, I'll be renting the game since I assume my game save will be good for GT5 should I decide to purchase it. |
See, that doesn't fly for me. To decide how much of a deal something is I think you need to compare it to it's most comprable product. Which in this case is the full GT5, which is going to offer a much much larger amount of content for a mere $20 dollars more.
I mean if your option is between an orange for two dollars, an Apple for two dollars and 10 apples for 3 dollars. I'm going to feel ripped off if i bought the single apple for 1 dollar, regardless of what the orange costs.
Unless i really am 100% positive that i can't eat more then one Apple, and no one i know will ever want an apple. (since i could lend the game out, other people i live with etc, somewhat similar to 9 extra apples.)
It's not even a case of "try before making the whole purchase" since you can just download the actual demo.
If they actually have downloadable content that costs about the same and gets you the full package, then great. But it's silly to risk it based on rumors.
