cant the internal drive do that? the 360 does have a built in scaler chip...
Yes the 360 can do it, but people are worried about their 360 RRoDing, so the use the external drive to upscale.
yea, afaik the 360 should be able to upscale DVDs without the add-on and afaik the add-on itself has no scaler chip, so it wouldn't be able to upscale DVDs, if it's connected to a PC
