I've never even heard of it. Granted, mainly because it's a X1 exclusive. I'm not gonna really look too much into its games. But 10,000. That's pretty bad. At least now I know. I'll look out for it, if it get's put on something else.
Horrible marketing is correct, I just hope this is not a trend for 1st party games on the XBone.

Just because I don't think it would have sold significantly better doesn't mean I think the sales would have been similar. Would it have done slightly better on PS4? Sure, I don't think it would have been a big of a difference as people claim. HR and B:TS are big budget retail exclusive games, not really comparable IMO. There's xbox gamers that like niche games, Swery's other game "Deadly Premonition" is proof. |
I don't believe HR and B:TS were exactly big budget titles. I don't even think Quantic Dreams is that big of a studio. My point, though, was that they were very niche, but sold incredibly well. The 360 Deadly Premonition didn't even sell 1/4 of what Beyond sold. Of course, if you want apples to apples you have to look no further than Flower and Journey. Two niche, downloadable games that sold very well.
Now, does the 360 have a few titles that are niche and sold pretty good? Sure. But, as a general rule, they just perform better on PS consoles. That will be doubly so this gen, given the large sales gap. And the problem with this game, that wouldn't have happened if it was on PS4, is that MS just doesn't give a shit about this game and just sent it out there to die. Like I said, if this was Sony, they would have had 3 or 4 ads/features about the game on there Youtbe channel and blogs, and would have given it facetime during at least 1 of its big conferences.

Heavy Rain topped out over $52 Million , almost $22m to make
Beyond two souls is expected to be around $27m
But yes, I agree Sony does a better job at promoting their indie/niche titles and MS could do more. The game still has time to sell a respectable amount and MS funded the game so it's not it's a complete loss. This game is extremely niche, wasn't going to sell a lot no matter what platform tbh.
though I read in some articles that the devs gave the announcement not ms
Well they just released it out of the blue, so low sales should be expected.

How dares anyone blame gamers, right?
