She's not human, for one, and she grew up on a very "heavy" planet, so her muscles are far more dense than anything we're used to on Earth.

This is, of all the absurd things, actually pretty easy to explain by biology and body evolution.

You see some Federation soldiers in Prime 3, and she saves a few with her tether if you're fast enough, she yanks them to safety against rapid depressurizing and with them in full body armor, with a single hand easily. I mean, she can punch Ridley in the face and make him recoil, just think about how big and heavy he is for her to be able to punch him in the face and make him recoil.

Yeah she's physically imposing. Master Chief is 6'10" 2.08 meter and 286lbs 130kg outside of his suit.

Yeah probably, but I'm not excited by master chief. I'm a male, he's mal and I'm not gay. Samus on the other hand, her height does help to consider her as a potential wife material.

Forerunners and Chozo actually seem to be similar concepts, at least.

Anyway, Forerunner weapons would have to be significantly more powerful than Chozo weapons for that to work, because Samus's power suit uses Chozo technology and she has fought against (and taken hits from) her own power suit a couple of times.
